Having a pair of villains was a nice change of pace in PokeVenice and for some reason in the english dub they’re implied to be a part of team rocket but not in the original version at all. Outside of AI Sada and Turo I don’t even know what other human characters are even synthetic. She looks more like a really colorful version of nurse joy than anything but It was an interesting dynamic in the movie. But I do like how colorful and unique she is.

She had an interesting dynamic with interacting with the legendary sinnoh pokemon. Because they went to Greece for inspiration for the movie, I’m assuming Sheena is Greek coded as well.

Carlita from the Victini/Reshiram/Zekrom movies. She has a shiny hydreigon in the Zekrom version, and a regular one in the Reshiram version. She’s a descendant of the local ancient kingdom which also had the anime counterparts of the twin heroes of truth and ideals that both helped fuck up the kingdom with Reshiram and Zekrom and left it in the dormant state that it is in the present, which her brother tries to restore with Victini’s powers before he’s stopped because he’s evil or some shit. This is honestly the strangest part of the movies in general where two identical plots are presented in two different things like in the games. But they’re not exact copies of eachother and have plenty of differences in certain scenes, but mostly just with different pokemon. I don’t even know any other movie that’s like this, having two straight up dual versions at the same time. I remember when it came out one version was in theaters and the other one came out on tv. But Carlita herself is very cute. She just looks so…cultural. Even though I have no idea what culture she’s based off of or inspired by. Something about the skirt and the unique hat really pull her design together. She looks like she could easily pass for the female player character in another region.

You don’t really see a ton of female characters wear glasses and she pulls it off well with blending the intelligent and casual look together. They actually did reference her in the sinnoh games by naming an ace trainer npc after her and giving her the same ace, unfortunately no one on the english localization team got the memo and just called them Jamie instead. I think this was the last movie or even thing in general made with cel animation which made her look better. But yeah she’s just distinct enough to be really hot.

Kid Summers from the Lucario movie. Even when I saw this movie as a kid when it came out I thought she was ridiculously hot with that bodysuit and whatever’s going on with her hair. Her brown skin and magenta outfit go REALLY well together. She’s supposed to be this celebrity adventurer that tags along to mew’s weird tree but I remember thinking at first she was an evil spy or something. She also had two (2) weavile (they put so many fucking sinnoh pokemon in these hoenn era movies). I don’t think there’s even any decent fan art of her besides the billion year old pokemoa illustrations.
Kimia from the Volcanion and Magearna movie. She’s the princess of a kingdom that tried to keep it safe when some asshole wanted to use magearna’s power for themselves. She had a mega shiny gardevoir. She’s apparently the descendant of the inventor who made Magearna hundreds of years ago, which is probably why you constantly see Kimia with all sorts of tech in this movie. I think she’s pretty hot mostly for her coat dress thing just completely stopping at the front and showing off everything there when it feels like it really shouldn’t have. I also like the weird hair things and the gear parts in her hair is a nice touch that fits with everything else. I think her also being royalty also helps out. I remember at the time thinking Volcanion was voiced by the guy who voices optimus prime, but it turns out it was the voice actor for eggman instead. Another case here where I haven’t really seen the movie since it came out…

Furisode Girl from X/Y. I guess if you gave her a name it would be Kali since that’s the one that is given to her in the anime. Otherwise she’s just an NPC. The Z-A furisode girls suck ass compared to the ones from X/Y. All of the X/Y ones are cute, but for some reason I find this one the cutest.
The backpacker from sword and shield is still memorable to me. Maybe it’s because of the way everyone looks in that game compared to scarlet and violet, but they made her really adorable with the freckles and a design that’s not really generic. I like that she looks more like a traveler than a buff hiker.
For Orre npc trainers that haven’t been gone over already, I really liked the design of the cooltrainer girl, even back then. It’s weird that they just changed the name for the trainer class at one point to ace trainer but I guess ace trainer sounds better. You’ve got those thighs, the short hair, the jacket that covers whatever shorts she might have… the fuckin…bloodshot red eyes, and an overall cute design for an npc trainer who isn’t a criminal.

So looking into art of obscure pokegirls a little more, there was this one guy who seemed to make decent stuff with the similar npc trainers and movie girls. I felt like they were the only one at the time that did that and didn’t just draw the same popular girls that everyone else draws, but at some point they seem to have vanished without a trace. I think they used to have a website or something but that’s all gone too. I do like what shakeee’s doing with going through what seems to be literally every npc trainer slowly but surey.But it’s cool that there’s people out there at the very least that still remember and make those characters in their own style, even if they don’t have as much. Most of the media that these obscure characters are attatched to don’t resurface well. Maybe more people will notice eventually when certain stuff happens like Colosseum’s rom getting ported to the switch 2 online or putting all of the pokemon movies in one place some day or making them a bit more accesible in general (seriously what the fuck is going on with that). Like, at the very least with XD being rereleased on the NSO some new people have to have learned Lovrina exists so that’s something.
