This feels too easy, given most of their names are based on plants already.

But, I think mint suits Arven as a plant. Plants in the mint family are tough to kill, regrow on their own and are used not just for food but for medicinal purposes too. Mint is strong and too much of it is overpowering, icy, and cold. But it can also be delightfully sweet and refreshing. It's versatile and can also work in savory dishes. It's a flavor that feels invigorating but can also soothe upset tummies. Mint can also take over if it's not kept in check, which reminds me of how his emotions can come out too strongly before he can think. I don't think he's invasive though. He'd be a plant that can do a little bit of everything, so I think mint is really a perfect fit for him.

ohh i have thoughts on guzma's plant inspo
many of alola's characters have hawaiian botanical names. guzma is named for a species of air plant found in hawaii that's non-native, but naturalized. my understanding is this is kind of a nebulous designation, but it's not so successful that it outcompetes native plants to the detriment of the ecosystem (compare with idk, kudzu.) these plants have evolved to have roots that anchor without taking up nutrients, and instead collect water that runs into their leaves. they grow in shady areas, frequently on other trees. i think that relates to him feeling like he doesn't belong in alolan society and making his own place with team skull. and being literally overshadowed by more successful people specifically on ula'ula BUT I DIGRESS

besides that he'd be one of those orchids that mimics insects to attract pollinators because he would fuck bees

I'm not well versed on plants, but maybe a Japanese maple? It's delicate yet elegant looking.
It's useful in terms of providing shelter for tiny creatures. But it won't feed you or anything.
I want him to be potted, but he's meant to be out there in the environment doing god knows what.

Reinstalled PokeMas again to start saving up gems since Legends ZA characters are starting to roll in. Hopefully it’ll take a few months for Corbeau to be released as my stash is still low, and I would like to have enough to spark for him.
I’m so curious to see what kind of voice he’ll have… I hope it’s a bit low and gravely.
I’ve been falling more and more in love with my husbando, but I still can’t tell if I want to imagine us together or if I’d rather make an OC.
But during difficult days at work where I just feel like quitting, thinking about him motivates me to keep going and build a future for myself…

I don’t tend to pull on anni pairs, I do like the usual anni picks such as Cynthia / Red / Steven but not enough to pull. The only pair I pulled was Irida last year because I’m a big fan of her and I love poison types, and her kit is great.
I do wish I had enough to pull for Harmony though because I adore KaraSei more than anything but I have to be strong (and I have NC May so I don’t think I’m in dire need for another busted water pair right now). Sad that she comes with my least favorite starter though, but I’m sure I’ll get her on a rerun.

She's a MC that's not Lucas so she'll probably get an alt soon enough. Might be better to just save for the inevitable alt (and it might have a mon you prefer). Team up/victory lines work with alt units too, so if there's any KaraSei lines, you'll still be able to access them with an alt.

I also think I am unworthy of my husbando and I couldn't see a way he would pick me if everything was going well in his life. So, I imagined a backstory of how we got together.

We work together, I work under him for almost a decade trying to get his attention. I try and make myself as useful as possible and basically just take any overtime if it means getting to spend some extra time in the same room as him. He has a type for women and it ain't me, so I've seen him in a few relationships over the years but it's more transactional. Eventually one of the break ups really fuck him up and take advantage of his low mood and vulnerable state and ask him for dinner just to cheer him up and then get him that way.

My husbando definitely wouldn't fall for irl me, but I like to imagine that being in the Pokémon universe would change me in some ways, and my love for him would change me in even more ways so that in said circumstances, I'd become the ideal woman for him. Though said changes make that ideal version of myself feel more like an OC rather than a self-insert at times, but either way, it's fun to imagine.
It also helps that my idea of how we get together doesn't even require him to fall for me at the start. I fall first and since he's a business man, I offer him my loyalty and skills as a trainer in exchange for a romantic relationship with him. So we end up in a mutually beneficial one-sided relationship for a while before I eventually grow on him enough that he starts to develop actual romantic feelings for me. If you can't see your husbando falling for you normally, forcing him into a relationship until the stockholm syndrome kicks in is also an option :D

I honestly love how unconventional and creative you all are when it comes to how you get together with your husbandos! I think the scenarios with Faba and Giovanni are quite in character too.
Every time I fall for a character I always use an OC tailored specifically for them / what sort of personality I believe they’d like (or at least what would offer a dynamic that appeals to me) so I’ve honestly never self inserted ever. But with my current husbando I just love him so very much in such an all consuming way that using an OC just isn’t enough.

It isn't actually that weird, in fact I think this is more common than yumeing a husbando outright, lots of people prefer to sit in the cuck chair as a shipper/simp because they can't imagine themselves with their favorite character.
