Which Pokemon game had the WORST postgame?
>>59527308probably BW because it doesn't make up for how fucking short the campaign is and there's zero replayability
>>59527308you posted it
>>59527319? but everything you said just described XY?
I quit XY because of a crash losing a shiny catch. Never finished it. Never finished any Pokemon game since then either. Just a few hours of play and that's it.
>>59527360XY has a longer campaign than BW and its postgame has more to do than BW's. So no.
>>59527308Gen 1 because it doesn't even have a postgame lol
>>59527308USUM, who thought it was a good idea to completely scrap the Fallers plotline in the upgraded version?
>>59527360>but what about other gameSmartest genwarrior
>>59527360One does not preclude the other. BW started all the awful trends people hate about Gen 6+, it's just people who shit on gens 6+ grew up with gen 5 so they conveniently omit it. Nostalgia is cancerous like that.Me, I openly and actively shit on Gen 1. I grew up through pokemania, but with the benefit of hindsight I can see just how awful pokemon has always been as a franchise.
>>59527308Ruby & Sapphire is the correct answer
>>59527416>but with the benefit of hindsight I can see just how awful pokemon has always been as a franchise. Is that why you come to a board dedicated to it?
>>59527308Gen 1 by nature of only having one thing to do post Champion fight, then XY (I don't get the Anons saying BW has similarly small post-game with all its additional locations...probably because Plat and BW2 that its inbetween had the best).
>>59527308base SV's postgame is nonexistent to the point that they couldn't even be arsed to put in a fucking battle tower
Both BW1 and XY are rushed and short games with no good optional content.
Original GS because Kanto doesn't have any real substance. Locations were removed or chopped down, which makes Kanto feel empty despite technically adding more hours of playtime...
>>59527308gen 1 and ruby/sapphire.
galar
>>59527308RS, it’s basically just a very basic tower and lati@s
ZA. Arceus had a whole postgame quest that revolved around catching em all, kicking Volo’s ass, AND due to Arceus’ more open areas, finding out new areas and sidequests along the way was peak. ZA despite taking place in the present takes place in a neutered city though I will say while I find za’s worse I do personally hate SV’s postgame more because it includes the dlc and I hated Gen 9’s dlc, Kieran and Carmine are annoying.>>59527319Is it short? From what I remember it was your average Pokémon game’s length. I will say heightening everyone’s levels was…something. I guess it makes sense but it kinda felt underwhelming when I played it.
>>59527308How do I know if I have done the Emma plot in XY?It's been years since I touched X and I don't remember actually doing it.
>>59527382What pokemon was the shiny?
>>59527738She'll be at the Looker Bureau, and you can rematch her on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
>what's the worst>illiterate third worlders start talking about amountThis board
Objectively RBY, the game basically ends. The entire post game is going and grabbing Mewtwo.
>>59527949Mewtwo was THE legendary though. And Cerulean Cave was a mood. Automatically makes it one the best postgames.Quality over quantity, anon.
>>59527986That's just nostalgia over quality. Cerulean Cave is just a cave and everyone saved the master ball for Mewtwo which robs you of any kind of boss fight. It's really not an end game.
>>59527308>rbys postgame is ass in relation to the whole series but it gets some degree of a pass because BUH BUH BUH ITS THE FIRST OK????, im sure the developer intention was that completing the pokedex was the postgame anyway, sadly theyve looped back around to that mindset in recent years but it was a different time, im willing to give a pass to rby because its an rpg from the 90s that actually saves after the credits lol>gscs postgame is ok and is technically impressive but its also boring and isnt much but a bunch of useless bullshit towns and mindless trainer gauntlets, which is a trend many future games will follow, i wouldnt call it the worst though because i will take quantity over quality in this kind of situation, and even though ill call anyone who begs for gamefreak to make a game with all the regions an autistic 13 year old brazillian child, its still cool they did it here on the game boy>rs is the first time ill call a postgame actively bad, gs set the standards, and rs immediately broke it and delivered a steaming pile of garbage. theres literally nothing but a (still half baked) battle tower, and a roaming legendary. basically weve dropped back down to rb, the only thing rs has going for it over rb is uhhhh you can do contests since 99% of players probably ignored it during the main campaign. at least emerald adds the frontier which gives the postgame Something, but i cant help but feel its still lame>frlg is where you can tell they were trying to set the standard of what pokemon postgames would become, too bad the sevii islands suck dick. its just a bunch of bullshit useless towns and trainers with randomly generated teams of shitmons and poorly designed routes that look like someones first time attempting tile editing and the trainer tower which is probably the worst battle facility in the series, plus its all just fodder that arbitrarily gates you from trading with rse until you complete it, making it just feel like a waste of time
>>59528136>dp is similar to frlgs postgame, being a bunch of bullshit useless towns and trainers with randomly generated teams of shitmons, at least the routes are better this time, there still really isnt a point to any of the postgame areas other than harboring the battle tower and a legendary, again platinum adds the frontier which at least improves things to a degree>hgss definitely improves gscs postgame, and has enough side activities during the main game alone that i think there is a non cope argument to saying "you can do the side activities now" kanto has a lot more to do in it, even if it still leaves a lot to be desired, but all the trainers are still just randomly generated shitmon teams as has become the standard, but i do think hgss is the first time the series truly had a "good" post game, plus theres the platinum battle frontier vomited into it as a bonus>bws postgame is right back into mediocrity with bullshit useless towns and randomly generated shitmon trainers i keep saying it over and over because thats what it is over and over, doesnt even have the grace a few past games had where you could half heartedly say "do the side activities" because they are all fucking garbage in this game "oh boy i cant wait to do pokemon musicals and the entralink" said no one ever>b2w2 has the best postgame in the series because i have an unoriginal opinion. not to say its without its problems, because its plagued by the same problem as all the previous postgames, being the towns and trainers of course, but for all the bullshit towns i think the world updates after the main story more than any other game in the series giving you a reason to loop back around to everything, theres tons of legendaries and superboss trainers, and enough battle facilities spread around the region to form a psuedo frontier of sorts, plus medals
>>59528136Holy melty, Batman! Looks like somebody was mindbroken by my posts, kek.
>>59528146>xy forms the basis for the "modern pokemon postgame" which isnt even modern anymore lol but whatever, its where theres a little epilogue thing that forces you to HM Fly everywhere for 30 minutes and then fight a superboss and then theres nothing else but a battle tower the end. i hate these, but the xy one is less egregious than future ones imo at least>oras has the worst "modern pokemon postgame" because the delta episode is fucking horrendous and zinnia is an annoying character and the end sequence is really tacky and lame and the HM Fly ing gets done to death here, i fucking hate it and think the game wouldve been better without it, because this game kinda does something cool and starts the "postgame" before the credits roll and gives you access to the natdex and legends and some postgame style events after the cave of origin, and i think if they just went all in with that and updated the world all across hoenn like b2w2 and maybe threw in an extra gimmicky facility or two like pokestar or pokeathlon instead of just copy pasting the contest hall across 3 towns it wouldve been a contender for one of the better postgames in the series, but instead we have the shitty ass delta episode. absolute missed potential, at least unlike xy it has Some side activities, so its not as much of a dead end, but i still hate the delta episode>i dont even remember much of the postgame for sm and usum, its just a very half baked looker thing in sm and a very half baked rainbow rocket thing in usum, just the generic fly everywhere and talk to people and fight a bunch of underleveled trainers and a few superbosses thing, its just bland>swsh was the last modern pokemon postgame before they completely stopped trying and focused on dlc i think idk i dont want to play the switch pokemon games its just the fly around and talk to people and blah blah blah
>>59528151ultimately i think the worst postgame is probably swshs its just the peak of the boring halfassed garbage they were cultivating since xy at least thats what i know i assume sv's is worse because iirc its actually nothing except like a couple lame battles but thats not to say pokemons postgame has even been super great its always been all over the place and inconsistent but at least they used to actually do it, though in terms of my own thoughts the oras postgame annoys me the most with how it could have been something at least alright but they fucked it up also td;dr>>59528150i actually havent read any post in this thread yet lol i just started typing this out of boredom
>>59528154So what kind of postgame would be enough to actually satisfy you?
>>59527308BW2 because the postgame existing actively makes the campaign drastically shittier
>>59528156honestly it doesnt need to be much in fact i think there doesnt even need to be new areas that open up so much i just want interesting facilities (not a tower) and for the world to not feel like it just stops after the credits, they had hit a sweet spot in older games where it felt like there was a reason to go back over the region and youd find the world had updated since youve been there, especially in b2w2, i just like that kind of thing over pointless extra routes and towns with nothing in them
>>59528081> everyone saved the master ball for Mewtwoi didn't. i saved it for mew, which i foolishly tried to catch near the infamous truck in vermilion
>>59527308Red and Blue because the post game consists of a single dungeon and that's it
>>59527308The haunter trade in gen 4 was given an ever stone, which made it infamous. In reality, there was a problem with the programming that made it impossible for trade evolutions to happen with an NPC.So the ever stone is there to hide this error, not to mess with the player.
>>59528196uuuh and?
