>It flops so hard that TPC despite not caring much about the anime's viewership is forced to take action due to the nonexistent audience.
Cringe.

Kek. Based.

Just signs of a dead franchise menwhile one piece 2 new movies, pokeflop stay reflop
>>
>>59528470
That's what happens when you get rid of the monarch
>>
>>59528587
And a new anime made by wit studio, pokeslop can’t compete
>>
>>59528470
>is forced to take action due to the nonexistent audience.
?
>>
And that’s good, the tranime is the floppiest media of Pokemon lol
>>
Liko just doesn't have the same cultural impact. Replace Ash was a mistake.
>>
>>59528470
That's what happens when you release a game every year.
>>
>>59528620
They replace him because her seiyu did fraud, that’s japan
>>
>>59528620
What cultural impact did Ashole have aside from gyping us out of seeing any of the male protags in the anime for decades, lose for stupid reasons, and not know what data is?
>>
>>59528644
>What cultural impact did Ash have
Being more recognizable than 99% of characters in this franchise
>>
I think the issue is they just went into a weird magic realm not tied to anything. The airship and traveling everywhere via it and popping into random places felt weird. Didn't really get it. It was too fantastical.

The point of pokemon is a solved formula. Some kid gets a pokemon, they go on a journey through their home region. Not sure what the fuck was happening with horizons with the shiny Rayquaza, multiple protagonists, hat Pikachu. It just feels like they threw anything and every possible idea in there when a lot of people should have been told "That's stupid".
>>
>>59528652
>More recognizable than the pokemon the monsters the true protagonists
Ashfags are delusional
>>
>>59528658
what even is the plot of Horizons?
too lazy to watch, but unable to figure it out from the outside.
>>
>>59528658
What I suspect happened was they were as bored with the neverending formulaic Ash journey as most of us were. Once they were (mostly) freed from constraints, they overcorrected and went to the opposite extreme.

As much as I dislike Horizons (and that's an understatement) I can't say I blame them for wanting to stretch their creative muscles a bit, even if I despise the result.
>>
Tranimefags can’t stop losing
No ash, no movies, now no anime kek
>>
>>59528674
At least we get poketoons..
>>
why can't they just make an anime version of something similar to Pokemon Special?
>>
>>59528661
The majority of Pokèmon don’t have even half of recognition as the character with over 1000 episodes and movies. The number of Pokèmon with cultural impact comparable to Ash are low.
>>
>>59528682
Pikachu, that’s why the anime always will be shit
>>
>>59528644
Pokemon was one of the few anime that were popular in the US during the anime boom of the 90s-00s
>>
you're gonna promote legends Z-A and show Ivor of all people?? not Corbeau, or Taunie/Urbain, or any of the actual popular characters? You're gonna have Kieren, one of the most popular male characters recently created, show up for a few seconds?
The choices made boggles me.
>>
>>59528685
Pokemon are the protagonist thats why the game sells, ash flopped thats why he was retired
>>
>>59528682
Because that would be good. The Switch era has shown that GF literally HATE their audience in the same way Pissney or Ubislop do. GF would never do something that the core fanbase would celebrate.
>>
>>59528470
Anyway he's not coming back lol
>>
>>59528618
This, what action have they taken?
>>
>>59528704
Ash had been the protagonist longer than most Pokemon have existed. Clearly something worked if they kept him for a majority of the franchise’s history.
>>
>Some guy on X spews vague shit through Centro
>Lunatics run with it because they don't get the attention from it on /padt/ anymore
What do you call it if you repeatedly talk about something you or others seemingly don't care about?

It's true, Ash is one of the most recognizable faces in the franchise.

But not for the right reasons. Nobody has taken him seriously in a good decade, everyone remembers him as the meme that got cockblocked by the writers on a regular basis. Barring a dozen emotionally stunted 35 year olds, nobody is really interested in new Ash content.

It's also not a reason to bring him back. Bringing back Goku was a mistake, bringing back Naruto was a mistake, and they actually had ended on a high note. Imagine the unmitigated disaster that would be bringing a character that is mostly remembered as a joke

It was supposed to end according to "leakers" 3 times now as well. Unless OP explains it, it's another episode of "/vp/ being mind broken and if you mention it you're the one obsessed with it"
God the Pallet maggots are insecure with how fast they flock to such places.

Horizons is a huge, beloved success. But its performance has no bearing on their decision to move to the seasonal model anyway. The whole industry is going in that direction because it's what the streaming services want.
>>
>>59528755
>Ash had been the protagonist longer than most Pokemon have existed.
Only because of one autistic executive at TPC who dug in his heels and refused to allow change. Literally everyone else involved with the anime wanted TrAsh retired 10, 15, 20 years earlier than he was.
>>
>>59528781
Tcg,pokemon go, merch all sell without ash lmao
>>
>>59528787
Doesn’t matter how or why he managed to stick around as that’s a non issue to the average person. He’s still more recognizable than most Pokemon. If they wanted him gone his episodes wouldn’t still be used for marketing to this day.

Yes they use it because there are pokemon monster on it the true protagonists

>Clearly something worked if they kept him for a majority of the franchise’s history
nip corporate culture is too respectful towards senior executives and there was the one autistic director Yuyama who didn't want to let Ash go. It only became unsustainable after the XY fiasco and him trying to make Ash lose the league AGAIN in Alola. By journeys he was moved to a nothingburger role, and as soon as he stopped working in Pokémon Ash was binned
I bet a lot of people ended fed up with him, even in one of those leaked meetings someone casually pointed out Ishihara had been commenting Ash should be binned since the early/mid 00s.

They were probably fed up with Rica too, given the rumors about her personality. She barely appears elsewhere, in contrast with Ikue who has had a bunch of notable roles and even a second global-scale iconic character

>>59528781
This is the real answer, if any probably it's the tcg/merch machine (that moved out of anime stuff long ago) that kept funding Pokémon anime
>>
>>59528795
Yeah, but you implied he stuck that long because "something worked" when in reality it was because of one (1) executive forcing the show to be done his way over the staff's objections.
>>
>>59528835
>because "something worked"
It did. A company as unrivaled as Pokemon doesn’t keep branches around unless it does something for them.
>>
>>59528704
>ash flopped thats why he was retired
has been in over 1000 episodes
has been in 23 movies
over 20 years as the main character of the anime...
Yeah ok newbie.
>>
>>59528833
>They were probably fed up with Rica too
Oh, spill the beans! Normally I don't follow celeb bs but this sounds fun.
>>
>>59528746
think theyre talking about how the gen 10 anime will be seasonal instead of weekly but idk
>>
>>59528470
He ain't coming back, deal with it.
>>
>>59529131
I gotta wonder why people are so obsessed with Ash. If it was merely their self insert, there wouldn't be so much obsession over him. Only explanation is that they're faggots using "self insertion" to hide how much of a faggot they are
>>
>>59529148
Who said anything about that hick? Project elsewhere.
>>
>>59528470
Can you useless asswipes stay in /padt/?
>>
>>59528661
Your average normalnigger "big Pokemon fan" can name maybe 10 Pokemon, all of them from Kanto, as well as Ash, Misty and Brock.
