I pick this game back up every year around the anniversary and it seems like the game has regressed back to day one balancing. Moltres and Zapdos don't do anything special they just have retardedly high stats and are hilariously broken

Moltres is just a more functional Scizor. Yeah it'll steamroll a team that just lets it do its shit for free but with adequate CC the whole cycle of healing itself and constantly dashing towards you falls apart.

I think in higher elo games(which im not back in yet) it will start to fail me as I go up against teams filled with mons that have cc piloted by competent players.

You are right functionally it is the same as scizor so it should suck but the stats are just so high. It does SO MUCH damage and is bulky enough to walk out of being assassinated and kill them back while healing to full. Even against competent players, playing meta mons, making all the right moves I just get on top of them and win even in their goal zones.

Lucario and Charizard.
Both offer their own viable playstyles that are quite different from the megas, about on par in power.
Base Charizard is pretty easy to play; Lucario, on the other hand, has a very high skill floor. Most people will just embarrass themselves if they try to play ESpeed Lucario.
But I've seen really good players pull of crazy shit on it, zipping around like an extra demented Zork.

Zard X's ability makes a big difference and the speed boost on the mega makes traversal to farm up another ult a big difference. Regular Zard is still viable, but there's never ever a reason to run regular Zard with PunchBlitz over X

Solgaleo is even worse then Palkia... kit wise its better but spends most the game as its prevos unable to make an impact like gyarados but even worse, then when you get to Solgaleo its pretty far from the top tier all-rounders that get going much faster

It also has crazy sustain because aura sphere doesn't discriminate healing between npcs and enemies.

Yeah palkia isn't that bad, we are just used to new all-rounders being broken, still its just a little too simple and its ult isnt great.

Solgaleo just doesn't have the right pay off. Cosmog and Cosmoem aren't designed to be completely useless like magikarp but they are weaker then the psuedos prevos are and with how this game has become they just are useless. Now Solgaleo isnt a psuedo but it is designed like one except it gets its pay off earlier which might explain why its not that strong.

I think the only pokemon to have been designed like that and be good is tyranitar so we'll see how things work out with Solgaleo

Palkia's burst damage just straight up isn't good enough for how involved its combo is. You say it's sustain is good because it doesn't discriminate but that's either dependent on landing it in the proximity of mobs of trying to do it into a crowd, in which Palkia is forced to Unite to land the reset if it doesn't kill (which most of the time it won't into healthier enemies) which adds even more bloat onto its ttk. It requires so many steps to just do what other All Arounders do for free.

Hm, I'm going to try putting Muscle Band on Palkia. One of the things that have bothered me the most is that the auto attacks are sometimes just a smidge too slow.

I like how everyone runs away from a Palkia ult when at best its going to do 10% of their hp.

Reached Legend for the first time.
I know it shows Bacon Bird in the back, but it was actually Psyduck through most of the climb.

One moveset mons is one thing but forcing all previous mons to pick their movesets before a match is so lame. I know there were a lot of mons with only one viable moveset or ones that were essentially locked into a certain moveset because of their items but there were quite a few flexible mons that had two good kits or could mix and match moves and the ability to pick one move over the other depending on how the match was going was just robbed from them.

You know I didn't put much stock into the EoS shitposting when Unite being removed from Worlds was first announced but these are kinda worrying me. It reeks of the "push out what we've got done quick and easy so the players can at least enjoy it before we shut down" approach a lot of Live Service games go when they go under. The main thing giving me pause is that Morpeko's an event in such close proximity to those three.

The Eevees just kinda seem shat out for the sake of finishing them off, Jolteon in particular has basically all of its things just be lazy reskins. THat said, I wouldn't mind and in fact prefer having two releases at the same time per month instead of what we've been getting with one release every 2 weeks or so. There was also an option to trade your old coins for these points or good holowear, for a couple of months, but that's over now.

The game itself is bearable but timi keeps making stupid decisions like the new license unlock system (coins are not a thing anymore) or the fact you now have to decide on your moveset during the prep phase with no way around it, which is as retarded as it sounds
Also, new mons now have only one moveset but in exchange are released more frequently, which some people are in favor of but if you ask me, this makes them feel less unique and boring to play; it really shows with most of the newer releases

However, the game balance in general seems better than it used to be thanks to draft pick being a thing and newer releases are underpowered more often than not

I just had a team so bad, I couldn't even get mad. I had Comfeybot and a Sableye. The worst part, was that the Comfeybot connect to the Sableye. That little shit never die. To make matter worst, Sableye went into the jungle and stole exp meant for our Jungler. It wasn't even a 4v5, it was a literal 3v5. I knew there was no point of getting mad.
