the problem with rocket's articuno ex, like all other 130 damage for 3 energy basics, is that arceus ex exists. arceus ex has 140 hp instead of 130, is immune to statuses so it doesn't die to cards like blaziken or sceptile, and is colorless so it works with everything. there is literally no reason to use rocket's articuno ex under any circumstances when arceus ex exists.

>>59540475Definitely not the same, anon. +2 retreat and attack is much more oppressive than randomly changing energy type. For one, you can randomly roll onto the correct energy for their deck (which feels like it shouldn't happen or should be rare, but the probability in this game is rigged). Plus most Pokemon have colorless energy costs for their final energy, so it's likely by the time Porygon gets online with its 3 energies they'll already have their bases covered and changing the last energy won't matter since they met the minimum color requirements for their attacks. Meanwhile +2 extra energy is a huge extra investment that locks them down hard, especially since it also stops them from escaping.That isn't to say Porygon is a worse card. Just it does something entirely different even if they feel similar. Porygon is more about punishing high energy cost mons without colorless requirements (rare). Tinkaslut full nelson locks them down for hardcore anal sex using her hammer. You either roll with her or take it unlubed, but you're not getting away without fucking her.
