what are your favorite dungeons of the series?
I love the Abandoned Ship, i just like the fact that is optional but they let you know it exists when Barney brings you to Slateport for the first time, and i always liked doing backtracking to discover new areas in old place. Also, the ost is beautiful.

I like Union Cave.
>has multiple incentives to return
>leads to Ruins of Alph
>Lapras event

x and y were truly meant to be good games that were just held down by time constraints and incompetence

>I love the Abandoned Ship, i just like the fact that is optional
Is it optional? Don't you have to go there to get some key item for scientists to advance the plot?
>>
>>59552574
Nope, completely optional. The key item nets you the ability to get Clamperl’s items.
>>
>>59551125
>x and y were truly meant to be good games
that's probably why they were good games

Eterna Forest is definitely underrated
>super cozy atmosphere, especially when you're playing during night
>comfy music to listen and relax to
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U6LG2dCc_E
>able to team up with Cheryl and have double battles, including wild double battles with Pokemon which was cool because it was the first time that ever happened in the series
>access to the Old Chateau which is spooky as hell
>nighttime exclusive events like going to the Old Chateau to encounter Rotom
>Moss Rock is also available to evolve Eevee into Leafeon

Mt. Coronet, but since >>59551124 already called it, my second-favorite is Relic Castle. Fun lore with Volcarona being treated like a legendary, nice aesthetics and a great music track. Shame it got cut-down in BW2.

In my headcanon remake of DP there's a subquest with Gardenia and Cheryl about Old Chateau

Im usually not too fond of cave/dungeon exploring due to high reliance on HMs and very frequent encounters but giving it a thought, the one cave i never get tired of is Ice Path. Its looks great, it has nice BGM and its not really a slog to go through. My boi Swinub is also there along with Delibird and even Sneasel if im feeling a bit edgy. I dont know if it really counts but Gen 1 Pokemon Mansion is kinda fun as well.

Anything related to lost places (Sea Mauville and New Mauville in Hoenn, Haunted Mansion in Sinnoh, Abandoned Mansion in Kanto etc.) and still active infrastructures (Power Plants in Kanto and Kalos), as those give us nice glimpses into the pokeworld's society and history. What I'm really baffled about is how tourists treat Sea Mauville in ORAS like a playground rather than the rusting life hazard that it is.

>>59551113
What I really hate is how this place is one wasted opportunity to expand on the lore of pokeballs. There could have been info about how pokeballs are made, but all we got is a factory building, some conveyor belts, a pile full of Poké Balls, and NPCs giving you only info about the factory itself or where they ship the products later. The anime gave us way more indirect info (despite it also avoiding a detailed tour by switching over to Team Rocket's shenanigans), but given how people tend to look down on the anime as non-canon, there is really nothing game-related to work with

>What I really hate is how this place is one wasted opportunity to expand on the lore of pokeballs
It's a missed opportunity to introduce a new corporation like Silph or Devon that produces pokeballs. But looking back at XY, it would probably have been SILPH FROM KANTO KALOS DIVISION
>>
I forgot we used to have dungeons.

Yep, that too.

Are there any cave or building like evil team hideout in SV and ZA?
>>
>>59554670
There aren't even evil teams in those games.
>>
>>59554700
Just bullies and loan sharks (not evil?)

I always liked Silph Corp. No wild pokemon, just tons of trainer battles that you can maneuvre around if you are smart while solving logic puzzles.
>>
>>59551099
Silph Co, Pokemon Mansion, Pokemon Tower.
Gen 1 had the most fun ones.

I actually prefer it in BW2 because it lets you get volcarona at a not-retarded level
>>
>>59551099
Either the Abandoned Ship or Shoal Cave for me.
Going there at low tide is so fucking cool, and the Spheal line is one of my favorite Hoenn 'mons.

fuego ironworks always sticks out in my mind, i think i just like optional areas
shoutouts to castelia sewers for also having the little garden area you could get a few exclusive encounters in
>>
>>59556737
Most people probably only visit this area to get a Magnezone or Magmortar, but there's a guy inside who will trade you shards for star pieces you can farm at Iron Island
>>
>>59554670
ZA has two mini dungeons
>>
>>59556770
which ones?
>>
>>59557862
Lysandre Labs and the sewers.
>>

I like the rocket hideout in Mahogany Town. There's actual traps to avoid, as many battles as you want, you team up with Lance (kinda). It's cool.

hoenn had a lot of places to backtrack to, makes it my favorite region. some standouts include the abandoned ship, the rest of meteor falls after you get waterfall, that area where once you get surf you can access a small patch of grass and get jigglypuff (only place to find one and no trainer has one), and shoal cave
>>
I prefer Sendoff Spring/Turnback Cave to the Distortion World. I like how it feels like its not supposed to be there.
>>
Why is nobody talking about the modern games? Oh right
>>
>>59560544
Didnt you like Diglett tunnel Alola edition? And Galar Mines?
>>
>>59557879
>sewers
Another wasted opportunity to include a dungeon there, when you remember the Paris Catacombs exist.
>>
>>59554600
>ORAS like a playground rather than the rusting life hazard that it is.
ORAS has shit world building that's why
>>
>>59551099
I like the ship, but it's got a few too many trainers for my taste. Should be more lonely.

>>59551124
I really like how many times you pass through this place before actually climbing it.
>>
>>59560730
Truw, but most entries have.
