I like BW but at the same time they're the games I want to replay the least because the Unova dex is truly awful and boring. I remember when Gen 5 was still new and fresh the biggest complaint that my friends and I had was that all of the new designs were ugly. And I still think that's the case. Obviously this has no effect on gameplay but it still sucks that you're forced to use fuck ugly designs.Like why does Excadrill, one of the pokemon that unovaborts will cite as a defense, have retarded stubby little legs? It looks absolutely ridiculous and offsets the cool factor. Now why did they also give these stubby legs to Conkeldurr and Scrafty? Scrafty specifically is known for kicking opponents and it learns many kicking moves, so why in the fuck does it have retarded stubby legs?Unova's KANTOOOOO equivalents are all terrible as well. Not only does Conkeldurr look absolutely horrendous, it is incredibly boring to use in comparison to Machamp. Just last generation I could obtain a No Guard Machamp with elemental punches and perfect accuracy Dynamic Punch. Simple but incredibly fun to use. Now one gen later why does my Conkeldurr only learn basic normal and fighting moves with no fun ability?Compare Rapidash to Zebstrika. Rapidash actually gets fun coverage like Megahorn, Bounce, and Poison Jab. Zebstrika gets fuck all, just Electric and Normal moves, plus Flame Charge but it's only 50 BP so who gives a shit. Zorua is flat out unavailable, Mienfoo & Vullaby evolve too late, Durant shows up too late to be useful, Volcorona is postgaem exclusive, etc. Many of these are late game anyway, so have fun using boring shitters with minimal movesets and lame abilities while all of the fun shit is locked behind the final 3% of the main story. Hell, even early game encounters like Venipede fall victim to this. Venipede learn the Defense Curl + Rollout combo early on, which sounds very fun on paper, but by the time you can obtain one in Pinwheel Forest it will have already forgotten BOTH moves. What the fuck? What was the point of putting this highly specific niche strategy in its learnset if it can't even fucking use it? It makes no sense from a game design perspective.And retards love to defend Vanillite and Trubbish but I don't think their heart is actually in it. They only do it because it's the wholesome thing to do against le evil gen 5 haters. Retards, nobody hates them because they're based on ice cream and garbage respectively, people hate them because they're terrible ugly designs. Vanniluxe and Garbodor are two of the most hideous designs I've ever laid eyes on. In Garbodor's case, a living trash monster could've been so fucking cool, but instead it's a giant green blob with arms.
