Super Max Mega Staraptor comes in at right above normal Dragon Ascent Rayquaza, so unless you somehow don't have any Mega Ray energy, or didn't claim the hundo Mewtwo plus pick Delphox for the pass, AND YET you also happen to have a Gust Staraptor, there's no reason to care about Mega Staraptor for PvE.

The power itself varied depending on the mega level of your Pokémon. I explained it last thread, but a if your mega is at the super mega max level (the fourth tier that costs 5k mega energy), then it get's a +30% buff in power to its mega plus move, because it's 3 levels above the base mega level. The calculations I ran were for Mega Staraptor at the highest mega level.

It also has a microscopic mega evolution cooldown that takes only 24 hours to make free again. Unless you're constantly struggling to solo megas or something, you're better off just walking whatever additional mega energy you need for the adventure effect.
