Thanks for the new thread. Starting a black, first response picks my starter.

>>59569038Congrats on the win, and good luck with Platinum!
>>59548831its been like a week since this but i figured id replyhow do you really game encounters for it? I guess it didn't seem like you really can to me but if I'm able to do that I'd be willing to restart the run.Cuz I DO wanna get something I want but I know that's also not really in the spirit of a nuzlocke even if i think it'd be more fun.Anyways having level limits, no items, and limited heals has been fun so far.
Made a few oopsies.I severely underestimated how much damage Archie's Houndoom could do to Mesmer the Politoad. I don't think I've ever even risked a loss against him before, so that really took me by surprise. Got burned on switch in and the burn damage just barely survived two Faint Attacks, and since he still had his koffing in the back they went down together. Then for Clair I thought I was being so clever. Mustard took out Gyarados with a Thunder, then Kingdra came out immediately afterwards. I decided to try and Perish Song it with Nessie, then switch into Alfie to bait a Hydro Pump, switch back and heal Nessie so he'd be at full health for the Dragonairs. It worked the first time, and Nessie killed both Dragonairs. When Kingdra came out again I was pretty sure I couldn't two-shot it with Ice Beam (I was right), and afraid it would land a crit if I had to wear down Clair's two potions so I tried the Perish Song strat again, hoping to save turns. Unfortunately this time it crit Alfie so it ended up being pointless. Not much I could've done to prevent that though, only one who might've survived that at that point was Scizor and I wasn't randomly switching to them.Goodyear the Phanpy will be taking her spot, so I finally have some defense against electric types for the future (and to keep my teamwide immunities going). Next up, time to fight the Kimono Girls and do some legendary stuff before we tackle the E4.>>59569038great job! Well done not getting any casualties!>>59566440RIP boots. Fun to see you're playing with tera types. Funny how plenty of RU mons in your roster seem generally really good for playthroughs.>>59566367True about the Dragonites, it is a problem when you need to switch an ice or water type into them tho. Also Water is just one of those types you always have plenty of options for, since there's plenty and always a few mandatory water routes.
>>59571423I'm gonna use Platinum as my example here. Under the og rules, you're unlikely to get Gible and outright not getting Feebas, two mons that evolve into very good team members. Dupes clause makes it a bit easier for both but you can still end up missing them thanks to encounter rng. Being able to pick which encounter you want boils down to how much restraint the player wants to show instead of working with what you're given, even gaining new appreciation for lines you wouldn't have otherwise had.Again, in spite of what i've said, this is ultimately your run, so don't feel you have to reset, you even said you're having fun, and that's what it comes down to.
This morning I just began my Pokemon Platinum nuzlocke. Was gonna begin yesterday but didn't have time. Here's my current team.>Turtwig>Budew>Starly>Shinx>Kricketot (useless)>ZubatOh and another Zubat I caught in the PC.Pokemon Platinum is my favourite Pokemon game so I'm happy to be doing a nuzlocke of it again. As for how I beat gym leader Roark, it went like this.I had Budew use Absorb to take out both Geodude and Onix, then Budew learned Mega Drain and I had Budew paralys Cranidos with Stun Spore and use Mega Drain, Headbutt nearly killed Budew and I was prepared because Turtwig was gonna be my backup pokemon while Budew would be the sacrifice but I won with no casualties.I think my nuzlocke is going fine so far. Any advice?
>>59571820Rough couple of losses, but at least after the Kimono Girls things will get easier. The grind is gonna take a bit, hope you have a good pokegear rematch spot.
Bump to save thread. Will post later.
Phew, okay, Rock Tunnel is always such a nailbiter in a nuzlocke, even with a team as stacked as this. I made it through with no losses and now I'm chilling at Lavender Town. I still haven't healed at the Pokemon center and plan on teleporting back to the center in front of Rock Tunnel after beating Erika, getting, the Silph Scope, and receiving the Pokemon Flute. It's quite the wait until a center heal, but I think with marts I'll be okay. I guess I'll use this opportunity to ask an open-ended question that I've had on my mind for a while now in my nuzlocke. Do you guys consider it cheating or too easy to use a wiki to see all the trainers teams on a route or dungeon beforehand? Like, I've been doing so and did with Rock Tunnel here since I was really afraid of the Hiker's exploding Geodudes but couldn't remember which ones had self-destructing pokes. It definitely made the whole thing way easier and I feel a little bit dirty about it. Not sure, I want to pull back on using it for every new area and fight, but the fear of losing mons to something just because I forgot a rogue scary poke somewhere is keeping me from it. Should I stop being a wuss about this and continue the rest of it as blind as possible with just memory to go off, or is having a guide in front of you just to see the data beforehand a little to much of a convenience?
>>59575960tl;dr on the question part: Do you consider the use of guides (bulbapedia/serebii) while going through routes for trainer pokemon cheating/in bad faith to a nuzlocke challenge? Should I do so going forward or go as blind as possible. (I know its ultimately up to me, but that's not what I'm asking...)
>>59575982Not really. If that's the case then it's cheating to know what pokemon the trainer uses. For example I know the trainer before Eterna Forest has a Piplup.
Here's my progress today. My current team is this.>Grotle>Staravia>Luxio>Budew>Meditite>GeodudeI put Kricketot in the reserves and I also caught a Buneary in Eterna Forest which is also in the reserves. I've decided that for areas where the game forces you to team up with someone don't count for encounters until after they are no longer teamed up with you because you always encounter two pokemon and there's a good chance your teammate could kill a pokemon your trying to catch. Eterna Forest makes you team up with Cheryl so much waited until I was done with her.I unfortunately lost my two Zubats, they where sacrifices and I think I'm done with Zubats for now since I had a Crobat on my last Johto and Hoenn team. I have not beaten Gardenia yet but I beat Team Galactics Commanders Mars using Turtwig who had learned Rock Smash which sucks because I don't like teaching starter pokemon HMs but I had no choice.Any advice for Gardenia?
>>59576322Gardenia shouldn't be a problem with Staravia. Does Luxio have Intimidate? Double Intimidate is pretty strong and you'll probably need it for Jupiter and her Skuntank.
>>59577317Nope, Luxio has Rivalry and your right that I should be mote worried about Jupiter than Gardenia.
>>59575982I personally consider it fine, but my own playstyle is extreme caution. It's not so far removed from looking up gym leader teams, but i can see someone preferring to be surprised on routes.
>>59577726That's a shame, but Luxray will still be good on your team. Hopefully you get past Jupiter without too much trouble.
Alright I'm too tired to play today so I won't be updating today obviously. But I have a fun story to share.I went to a Italian restaurant near me and a tiny little Finch somehow entered. It was so cute and it finally left.
>>59563003TLDR: SP works… mostly. I’d love to do some runs but I don’t have time.in-depth blog: I cleaned the power switch with 90% isopropyl alcohol, as recommended, but it didn’t work at all the first time. (pic related: I couldn’t get it 100% clean but I got a lot of the grime out.) I had to bend the metal pin under the plastic switch to make sure it made contact with the metal plating. Then, flux somehow got into the power switch and made it very difficult to flip. I tried soaking the switch with more 90% isopropyl alcohol so it would seep in, and kept moving the switch back and forth. Now the issue is that it doesn’t turn on for the first few attempts, and sometimes turns on but not if the power switch is flipped all the way? It usually works normally when it finally turns on, but today it randomly reset on me and I lost a lot of progress in a non-Pokémon game Megaman Zero 4. I could do LeafGreen attempts but I’d rather Sapphire, which I’ve yet to replace the battery for. I don’t have much free time as I’m going to be super busy because I’m basically moving out… probably. (If you’re wondering why I can play games but not change the battery, it’s because I can only solder during a select few hours due to reasons.)
Beat Gardenia and Jupiter today. Here's my current team.>Grotle>Luxio>Staravia>Geodude>Ponyta>GibleI also caught a Ghastly today but I lost Meditite and Buneary.Gardenia was easy, I just had Staravia take out her first two pokemon with Wing Attack but then I was a little bit scared of what her Roserade would do so I sacrificed Meditite just to heal Staravia. Against Jupiter, I used Geodude first and used Magnitude to deal some damage to her Skuntank but Night Slash nearly killed, I was gonna send out Staravia first to intimidate and lower it's attack but I wanted Staravia to attack first so I sacrificed Buneary. Staravia did managed to take out Skuntank though.Alright with that out of the way, any advice for Fantina?
Fuck this game. I've lost 6 pokemon today. My current team is this.>Grotle>Luxio>Ghastly>Togepi Egg>Eevee>BibarelSo unfortunately I lost Staravia to a trainers Misdreavious who used Pain Split and then Psybeam which ruined things because I planned on using Staravia against Fantina. Then I beat Fantina but here's how it went. My plan was to have Staravia and Luxio do the job, Staravia being immune and the highest level pokemon while Luxios Bite would also help. Because I lost Staravia however, I had to resort to just using Luxio. First I had Luxio use Bite on Duskull to which Duskull used Future Sight, I couldn't afford to have Luxio take damage so I switched out to Budew who took tried to use Stun Spore, missed, got hit with a Future Sight, Shadow Sneak and of course burnt from Will O Wisp killing Budew. Luxio cake out though and finished off Duskull. Then came Mismagius and this is we're things got fucked. Luxio use Bite but it was difficult as Confuse Ray happened and I had no way to heal confusion aside from switch, I kept switching to multiple pokemon to heal Luxio with potions and it's confusion, during this time I lost both Gible, Geodude and Ponyta but those sacrifices had to be made, then I switched to Grotle thinking that was gonna have to be sacrificed too or that I was just gonna lose my nuzlocke but Grotle managed to survive and used Bite a few times to eventually kill Mismagius. Haunter was easy as Bite from Grotle dealt with it but I've lost four pokemon in one battle all because Staravia died before.I also lost Kricketot if that matters.Any advice for Maylene? And how can I fix my team with some good pokemon to catch?
>>59583641Ouch. They made Fantina super rough in Platinum, but the encounters open up after her at least. If you haven't gotten either encounter around Mt. Coronet you should be able to get Bronzor easily, and if it has Levitate it'll be one of the best tanks you can get. Polygon is in Veilstone, and Houndour is before the resort. Grotle evolves at level 32, which is Maylene's level cap, but Gastly will probably get one shot thanks to its low defenses.
>>59583641My condolences.Buy Reflect at the Pokemart if you can fit it in. Or use Charm from Togetic. A Wingull evolves into Pelliper at lev 25, which would be great against fighting gym with rock moves.
>>59584759>>59584851Thanks. I cannot catch a Bronzor at Mt Coronet but I do have some other chances. There's Zubat at Celestic Tower and I could get Wingull. I'm thinking of completing the entire routes that go from Hearthome City to Veilstone city, then Pastoria city and then back to Hearthome if you know what I mean before the fighting type gym. Luckily enough I'm not limited to level caps. Other possibilities is Girafarig I guess. We will have to see what I get.
Fuck. Today has been exhausting. My current team is literally just this.>Grotle>Porygon 2And I got two pokemon in the daycare.>Ghastly>BibarelSo unfortunately I lost my Luxio to a Heracross knowing Counter, normally I would have Staravia take it out but nope. Then worst comes, I lose four fucking pokemon to a Driftblim, the Togepi that just hatched from an egg, a new Staravia and new Ponyta and caught and even my Eevee I was planning on evolving into an Espeon. These four pokemon, this is it. I'm at Veilstone City but I know I do not stand a chance against Maylene yet, I'm gonna do the routes in between Veilstone City and Pastoria city and then do the long swamp route before I even think of taking on Maylene, I might try and get a Girafarig or a Wingull or something. How fucked am I though? Do i have a chance of recovering?
>>59585656You can still salvage things, you just have to be careful. Get what encounters you can, go to a lower level route and train them up with the EXP Share and Vs Seeker. As soon as you can use Surf in the overworld go to the Valley Windworks and surf behind the building for the Thunderbolt TM for Porygon.
How do I deal with encounters in gen 9 when doing a nuzlocke challenge? Do I just catch the first thing I see in the overworld?
>>59586829You can put the encounter table for whatever you define as a route into an rng wheel and spin it for your encounter.
Bump.
>>59586829You can use the tera raids as a random encounter.
>>59586829First thing you bump into.
I lost my starter. My current team.>Porygon 2>ChatotAnd in the daycare levelling up.>Bibarel>GhastlyThat's it. I lost my starter Grotle to a fucking Goldeens Horn Drill, that's the first time that's ever happened to me and I hate it. I also lost a Rhyhorn I caught today. It's been very slow too, i barely made any progress. Literally all I did was make it to Pastoria City. I hope the Great Marsh and the Swamps can give me a good pokemon. I need a grassy type replacement. I want a Tropius, Carnivine or a Tangela. Is Porygon 2 and Chatot good enough for Maylene?
>>59588864>Horn DrillRough. Just this morning I lost my beloved Noctowl when switching into Horn Drill from the Rhyhorn at the end of Nugget Bridge in SoulSilver. I'd switched out of Ampharos expecting a ground-type move... and the worst part is, my Noctowl was at the same level as Rhyhorn, so if I'd trained even a little more it would've shrugged it off.I'm down to Meganium, Nidoking, and Ampharos in terms of good mons right now... time for another training arc once I decide what I'm gonna use from my boxes. Might use my Celadon encounter to purchase a Porygon with all the Voltorb Flip points I painstakingly earned. I also lucked into getting a Cubone in Rock Tunnel, but its IVs aren't the best and it's Modest... I can still make it work, I think. I feel it lessens the sacrifice of my fallen Pokémon to use another of the same species, so I'm keeping my Red Gyarados, Graveler, and Golbat boxed, but I still have my Eevee and Togepi sitting around.
>>59588864>Is Porygon 2 and Chatot good enough for Maylene?Check on kinglercalc, her set is on there. I think you should stop relying on 2 pokemon against teams of 3, I feel you need to utilize all your pokemon more, though not to the extent that you waste so many moves that you get crit. Idk, how are they gonna take down two fighters plus Lucario? Wish you luck on getting another flyer, sorry bout Grotle, sucks to lose a starter. Losing your fire types from before suck too. If you are doing no repeats, I think you can get a Houndour 100% at night
>>59589441Too late for me to get a Houndour. I already did the route it's found in. Unfortunately I played in the day time so my encounter was a Rhyhorn. I never knew it could only be found at night. My only hope for a fire type now is Magmar and I could just end up catching a Magnemite or a Floatzel.
>patrat>lilipup>that fucking cat>shit ass monke>all money wasted just for repels so i can guarantee excadrillI LOVE POKEMON BLACK I LOVE POKEMON BLACK
>>59590397I hate gen 5s early game.
We are so back bitches. My current team.>Porygon 2>Chatot>Bibarel>Fucking Gengar>GastrodonI also have a Roselia in the daycare.Today has been great. No major battles won but I think I can do this. I managed to restore my team, I now have a Gengar which is my first time owning one and a Gastrodon too. I did catch Wooper though I lost it and I was desperate for a Tangela in the Great Marsh. Oh well. I'm still worried about Crasher Wake but I'm confident I can take on Maylene.
>>59590632There you go, that's why you don't throw in the towel. Team is looking good, good luck against Matlene and Wake!
>>59590397Sinnoh's early game is just as repetitive with its early game encounters, but at least most of them end up good at the worst. BW1 really want you to learn about type advantage though.
>>59566440Continuing my RU restricted randomizer random ability blind playthrough of Scarlet.Things went pretty well until they didn't after beating the last gym. I had enough money to get optimizing nature mints for all my pokemonOrtega was delt with mostly by Torterra until his Starmobile. I swapped to Dusknoir who chipped it a ton while eating sitrus berries until I could switch in Articuno to Sharp Beak Hurricane it.Eri's fight was a complete joke. I got the metronome item from the delibird store and just spammed hurricane with Articuno, one shot everything and had a base power of 200 by the time her starmobile came out and it got OHKO too. Then for the final Titan, Torterra deleted the 2 giant Dondozos, but the actual fight with Tatsugiri was horrible RNG. I got a +1 off of its Icy Wind due to Wind Rider, but then it just started spaming muddy water with accuracy drops every time, and both I and Arven missed everything for 3 turns. Finally got off a bullet seed getting it down to 25% HP, but Torterra couldn't take another hit. Switched to Dusknoir and just thunderpunch chip it to death while eating sitrus berries. Then we get to the league, and I thought I had everything planned out.Articuno lead against Rika, deleting Whiscash. Then she send out Donphan, who had sturdy and Stone Edge, so I u-turned out for Passimian. Earthquaked it. Then Camerupt tried to fire blast me and activated Passimian's Well-baked body, giving me +2 defense. Passimian proceeded to drain and Earthquake Dugtrio/ClodsirePoppy was a little scary at the end. Passimian deleted Copperajah, then came Corviknight. U-turned out to let Dusknoir take the hit and chip it to death while spamming fire punch. He then chipped Bronzong to death as well. Switched to Torterra to absorb the Magnzone's discharge and earthquaked it. Finally, tera-steel Tinkaton's Gigaton hammer brought Torterra down to 3HP, but killed back with EarthquakeLarry never stood a chance. Metronome Freeze-dry articuno
>>59593887Hassel left me with a dangeous choice I paid for. His lead Noivern outsped and super fanged Articuno to 50% HP. Meternome Freeze Dry delete all of his mon until Baxcalibur. Even with 125BP + STAB, I didn't believe could OHKO and would die to Tera-Dragon Glaive Rush. So I U-turned into Dusknoir, hoping to survive, cud chew sitrus berries, and make an opening. Unfotunately, that Tera-Dragon Glaive Rush crit and OHKO Dusknoir on the spot. I then sent in Power Spot Slaking, thinking its drain punch would OHKO due to glaive Rush, but it survived it 1 pixel. And then it crit AGAIN leaving Slaking with 10HP. Another Drain Punch and it was over.I lost my greatest pivot mon, my anchor, my chip-damage king, Dusknoir. Finally it was time for Geeta and holy shit, she is the worst champion in any game. I wanted to make the thing go full circle so I made it to where, despite having a 1 level gap, Passimian would solo her whole team.Shifted around my party members so Beat-Up would have a 105 due to being based on base attack stats. He beat up Espathra and Veluza, itemless Acrobatics OHKO Gogoat, and then close combated Avalugg, Kingambit, and Glimmora easily.Won the league with my randomized starter! Now I have all the post-game/Area Zero, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy to run through. I think i'll give myself 2 more catches each of thoseFirst two gets are!>Mycelium Might Cacnea>Electric Terrain DollivOnwards to Aera Zero!
>>59593898Fuck I meant to put HADRON ENGINE Dolliv. I think this thing is gonna go hard AF.
>>59590397I've learned to appreciate Unova's early Field pokemon cause it's like the only gen where you're forced to used them (other than HM slaves). They have very good abilities for the stuff you fight against early on, and they have a pretty diverse out movepool. >Patrat has detect (for stalling), keen eye (no accuracy drops), leer (-1 def), sand attack (-1 accuracy), and hypnosis>Purrloin has limber or unburden (so good with oran/chesto berry), resists common early dark moves, growl (-1 atk), thief (berry farming)>lilipup gets vital spirit (can't sleep) or anti-sandstorm ability, leer (-1 def), intimidate (-1 atk on switch in) upon evolution >Pidove (flying not field) has growl (-1 atk), leer (-1 def), roost, keen eye>Monkies get leer (-1 def), i think sand attack?, yawn or leech seed or scald>Munna gets some sleep move>Audino gets regenerator(!!), growl, attractTon of tactics to play around with. Excadrill is like the best pokemon of the game, so it seems pretty fair that the cost of of getting one is higher. Healer audino sucks but 50% chance is a nice risk cause it still gets you through the first gym w/o the monkey (and nobody needs munna), and purrloin can use cut too. And all that money you used for repels could've been used for daycare leveling up, buying TMs, or (if you allow yourself to use them) potions.
>Vs Giovanni (Rocket Hideout)>OnixOnix misses a Rock Throw, and Ameline oneshots Onix with Water Pulse.>RhyhornIt also falls to Water Pulse.Ameline gets to Level 29.>KangaskhanIt misses a Mega Punch, and Ameline hits back with Return.Next turn, Kangaskhan uses Tail Whip and Ameline Disables it.I switch in Brunelca on a Mega Punch. She eats another one, then ends the fight with Revenge.
>>59595029This next fight ended up going my way so hard I didn't have to use the Poisoned Guts Machamp...>Vs Erika>VictreebelKey hits Victreebel with an Ember, and it misses a Stun Spore. Another Ember knocks it out.>TangelaIt falls to Ember.Key reaches Level 31.>VileplumeKey hits it with Ember before getting Stun Spore'd. Cheri Berry removes the paralysis.Another Ember, and Vileplume misses Stun Spore.Erika uses a Hyper Potion, and I just use Ember again.Another Ember and another Stun Spore Miss, and then yet another Ember ends the battle.
Alright I have just beaten two gym leaders today. Here is my current team.>Porygon 2>Chatot>Gengar>Gastrodon>RoseliaHere's how I beat Maylene. First I had Gengar take out Meditite with Shadow Ball, then Porygon 2 came out and took out Machoke instantly with Psybeam but Chatot struggled to take out Lucario with Chatter and Force Palm did alot of damage, so I could switch out to Bibarel and make a sacrifice so Porygon 2 or Gastrodon go first but then I remember Gengar is immune to fighting so I send Gengar out first and Force Palm those no damage, then two more Shadow Balls and Lucario is down. And how I beat Wake.First I had Roselia set up Toxic Spikes while his Gyarados used Bite but got poisoned, Bite did alot of damage so I switched out to Gastrodon to use Body Slam and while the poison helped and did its work, Waterfall did alot of damage so I switched to Bibarel who somehow managed to tank Waterfall and use Hyper Fang, his Gyarados was annoying but it eventually died. His Floatzel was annoying but it got poisoned which helped and Porygon 2 defeated it with Psybeam. Finally Roselia just used Giga Drain on his Quagsire and took it out instantly.Other than that, I did lose my HM slave Bibarel unfortunately, to those two Ace Trainers with the Gyarados and Raichu.Alright with that being said, any advice for the next gym leader Byron?
>>59594085The real utility of Audino is that if you're playing with dupes clause, and pretty much everyone does, you can guarantee specific Pokemon later, namely Throh/Sawk or Musharna.
>>59595222Gastrodon should handle Byron easily, just give it Earthquake and Surf, just watch out for Metal Burst. Also remember to get the Thunderbolt TM behind Valley Windworks once you get Surf.
>>59595680Jesus, waiting for a 1/20 and rustling grass is too long, and using Sawk/Throh for Lenora isn't as fun either. Obviously anyone can play how they want, but it's definitely a no for me.
>>59596744Yeah, i will. I think you get Surf after beating Cyrus in Celestic Town.
Today has been mundane but I now have a full team again. My team.>Porygon 2>Chatot>Gengar>Gastrodon>Roselia>Riolu.No gym battles done today but I got the Riolu egg in Iron Island, gonna train him up to help take on the fighting type gym and I will also have a counter for the ice type gym later. Still confident about Byron as I have Gastrodon but it can't help to have two pokemon. On another note, I'm gonna try and go to Iron Island to get Magnemite hopefully as I need an electric type but if not I'll just teach Porygon 2 Thundershock.
>>59596800You can usually get sawk or throh while grinding anyway. By then you've got like 6 Pokemon you can train up. Or you get Timburr, he still trivializes Lenora. Lenora isn't a super interesting right I'd feel bad about trivializing. You can even just use roggenrola.
>>59597566? You can't start grinding w/o interacting with a pokemon first, which defeats the point of trying to get a sawk/throh? There's a 40% chance you get a Tympole over the 10% sawk/throh. If you grind, you aren't guarenteeing it as you mentioned before. Rogg is good too but only 50% against Woobat, Nothing easy is guaranteed, but I honestly like that. Thunder wave and flame charge Blitzle is great too.
>>59597619You already have Audino in this scenario so as long as you keep hitting rustling spots there's no chance of hitting a Pokemon you haven't seen other than sawk/throh
>>59570391Took me a few days but I finally got a chance to start it up. Chili FUCKED ME UP, I was super lucky to keep the team alive. I totally forgot about incinerate burning away berries, wasted 2 of the orans Cheren gave me.
>>59597804you were able to win without sacrificing anyone? Impressive!
>>59597804Be careful when you make it to Lenora and you don't have a fighting type.
>>59597673Oh, farm the rustling, i see>>59597804sick, just use thief on a rustling grass audino to get the oran berries back. Purrloin or woobat can use the tm. Maybe you'll get a sitrus (i got it, like, once)
>>59595077Typical Grass gym experience. Kinda always feels like Grass gets the short end of the gym experience thanks to early game encounters always countering it. Regardless, we love to see smooth wins. Do you always keep Machamp poisoned, or go out of your way to apply it for certain battles?
Here's what happened tonight. My current team.>Porygon 2>Chatot>Gengar>Gastrodon>Roserade>Riolu.Pokemon at the daycare>Magnemite>GirafarigI evolved Roselia into Roserade and still grinding Riolu. I also caught a Magnemite and I'm thinking of replacing Chatot.
>>59599686>Do you always keep Machamp poisoned, or go out of your way to apply it for certain battles?I just do it at times. In this case I just didn't have great answer to this gym assuming Charmeleon got properly shut down, so having a poisoned Guts Champ in the back was just to make sure things didn't go badly.
>>59597804Some close calls, but good work! Lenora will be just as close without the right encounters, so be prepared for Retaliate. Also, where's your Panpour?
>>59598850Thanks for this idea with thief, just ended up with a woobat and this is going to be huge.
Beaten the sixth gym leader Byron today. My current team.>Lucario.>Gastrodon>Gengar>Chatot>Porygon 2>RoseradeAt the daycare.>Cherubi>MagnetonIn the reserves.>GirafarigToday I managed to beat the gym leader of Canada very City Byron and it's definitely agreed upon that he's one of the easiest gym leaders ever. Gastrodon took out his Magneton with Mud Bomb and Steelix with Surf while Lucario used one Aura Sphere too take out his Bastiodon. No damage taken and all his pokemon went down in one hit.I also dealt with Team Galactic at the lakes and caught a Cherubi at Floaroma Meadows.Any advice for the ice type gym leader Candice?
>>59600554Grabbed Audino in route 3, then backtracked and grabbed Musharna from Dreamyard. Right now the team is:Herdier, Snivvy, Woobat, Audino, Patrat, and Musharna. I'll probably get Throh from outside Pinwheel but I'm not sure yet, considering gambling inside pinwheel instead. My gameplan for Lenora is getting Patrat up to Watchog, using detect when she swaps in Watchog and hits retaliate, then hitting bide and praying. If my Watchog dies I'm not going to be devastated.
>>59600847If you're lucky enough to get compound eyes joltik at chargestone in the second half, it's pretty worth it to farm for sitrus berries too. I just run a bike around the route outside the day care/the cave you get woobat cause they're low lev, lots of biking space, and 100% audino in rustling grass. 1/5 for sitrus, and 3/5 for oran I think is the probabilities instead of 1/20 and 1/2, respectively. With thief, you also get all the status healing berries easily too, just look up a list of pokemon hold items. Compound eyes, Frisk (only black), and Thief are a great combo.
>>59600848Glad your run is good again. Depending on your stats, Lucario could maybe take on fast sneasal, slow piloswine, and slow abamasnow, but you'd have to check. Probably at least the first two, maybe use a swords dance. Gengar and magneton can probably take the rest.>>59600854Remember to use the chestos for watchog. A healthy audino can also tank hits, and attract and servine's leech seed (and leer maybe) is pretty great against herdier, better with regenerator. Growl on audino might help to swap into your own watchog if you are doing set mode. You should look up if your watchog can survive like two hits from Lenora, and to see if yours will outspeed hers, but using bide doesn't seem bad. Your swoobat (evolves by friendship, very nice) can probably outspeed her and get the revenge kill. An intimidate herdier is always helpful if you have one. Lenora is only bad without good prep (or a bad crit).
>>59595077Vs Koichi in the Fighting Dojo>Hitmonlee>HitmonchanZynx oneshots both with Psychic.
>>59602001Woah, that was a pretty dangerous fight anon. What's the plan now thay you've conquered the Fighting Dojo?
>>59602536It was to try to catch as many different mons as possible on routes I haven't yet(and evolve a few) so I can get things from Prof Oak's aides.Done with that so I'm gonna do Silph next.
I've just beaten the seventh gym leader Candice. My team.>Magnezone.>Lucario>Gastrodon>Roserade>Porygon 2>GengarIn the PC.>Girafarig>Snover>SwinubIn the daycare>Chatot>CherubiToday has been great, I replace Chatot with Magnemite and evolved Magnemite into Magneton and then Magnezone. I also caught Snover and Swinub on the way to Snowpoint City.As for how I beat Candice. First Lucario took out Sneasel with Aura Sphere though Aerial Ace did do some damage, next Gastrodon took out Piloswine with Surf but was nearly killed by both Avalanche and then a Earthquake, Lucario quickly took out Abomasnow with Close Combat but Abomasnow already activated Hail which meant her Frosslass had become evasive along with Candice spamming Double Team. The good news is I had Magnezone who used Lock On before attacking every turn ensuring the attacks hit, now hail did deal damage to Magnezone and a powerful Blizzard did nearly kill it but with enough Magnet Bombs and Discharge, Frosslass was taken out. So the whole battle was planned out.Any advice for dealing with Team Galactics base?
>>59601734Thanks. I never was gonna use Gengar against Frosslass though. The plan was to have Magnezone use Lock On.
>>59603076damn havent been here since feb, glad to see you still going connor
>>59604274What do you mean?
>>59602799Always a good idea to get what items you can. Hope Silpo Co goes well!
Did all of Team Galactics HQ. Now I'm going to do Mt Coronet tomorrow. Here is my team.>Porygon Z>Magnezone>Lucario>Gengar>Roserade>GastrodonBack up pokemon are Cherubi, Chatot, Girafarig, Snover and Swinub. Today I did Team Galactics HQ and I evolved Porygon 2 into Porygon Z. I am winning but I fear Mt Coronet.Any advice for the final Cyrus fight? Because that fight is difficult.
>>59602001Vs Silph Co. Giovanni>NidorinoZynx hits it with Psychic.>RhyhornIt falls to Ice Punch.>KangaskhanI swap in Brunelca on Tail Whip. Kangaskhan Rages, but falls to Revenge.>NidoqueenIt uses Poison Sting on Brunelca, who uses Dig.Nidoqueen then misses a Double Kick and takes a little bit less than half from the Dig.Nidoqueen hits a Double Kick as Brunelca Digs down again, only to miss one before getting hit by the Dig.Another Poison Sting successfully poisons Brunelca as she Digs, but this just means the Dig is even more sure to KO. Another missed Double Kick, and Nidoqueen falls.
>>59605587Lucario may or may not outspeed & 1HKO Houndoom. Really make sure else Flamethrower will fuck it up. Your gastrodon could do it in like 2 hits or maybe less, and take less damage though, so maybe consider that, but do look it up in a calc to make sure.Electric/Rock moves you definitely need. But Magnezone probably gets 1HKO by Earthquake Intimidate Gyarados who outspeeds it. The fact that Sturdy doesn't work in gen 4 sucks balls. Gengar may be super useful here since it's got Levitate and immune to Giga Impact. This may be where you use your Thunderbolt TM on Gengar. A crit from his Waterfall will kill though, so ideally Thunderbolt Gengar needs to be strong enough to make the 1HKO. Or you can use some Thunder Wave strategy and let one of your less useful pokemon die so Magnezone gets the kill. Or, have a Shell Bell on like Porygon Z, and use Discharge if you don't see a 1HKO on Gyarados.Lucario takes Weavile even though it'll get 1 hit in on you, and Magnezone destroys Crobat, though a Confuse ray is a lil annoying so berry right (be sure you're okay with using this as the hold item instead of something else). Honchkrow has Heat Wave, but it only kills Magnezone on a crit.Take your time thinking about this one and using a calc. A badly placed crit sucks and you lose a team player.
>>59605853Vs Koga>Koffing>Muk>Koffing>WeezingZynx just spams Psychic and beats all of them in one blow.
>>59606878>Vs Sabrina>KadabraAlvince sets up Light Screen as Kadabra uses Future Sight.Thunderbolt gets the oneshot.>Mr. MimeThunderbolt does over half and it uses Barrier. It then falls to another Thunderbolt.Future Sight hits at some point.>VenomothAlvince uses Thunder Wave, and Venomoth uses Psybeam. Light Screen fades.Sabrina uses a Full Heal as Alvince sets up a new Screen. Two Thunderbolts later(with a Psybeam inbetween) Venomoth falls.>AlakazamAlvince paralyzes it with Thunder Wave, but Synchronize turns it back on Alvince as well. Alakazam sets up a Calm Mind.I switch in Ameline on another Calm Mind, and Light Screen fades.Shadow Ball oneshots Alakazam.
I'm relatively early in my Leaf Green run (3 gym badges) and I just lost Mankey to a fluke encounter in the Rock Tunnel so I have an open slot. Any suggestions? I was thinking about maybe picking up a Vulpix as a counter for Erika, but my Butterfree probably also has that covered, since he's going to learn Gust at some point and he's also got Confusion to dominate all the grass/poison types in that gym. Another option could be to go for a Jolteon, IIRC I'm going to get an Evee at some point in Celadon and I haven't used my Shockwave TM.
Lenora was a pushover, I think I grinded a little too much. Caught Throh in my first rustling patch outside pinwheel. Herdier to attract/double slap Audino and me not paying much attention while grinding. Onto pinwheel proper I guess, I don't think there's going to be much challenge in the forest, burgh later on might a pain in the ass though. I'll get swoobat and rely on gust I think?
>>59607018Herdier died**
>>59606146Thanks man. This is gonna be really stressful.
>>59606990Jolteon would be a good pick, it can get Thunderbolt from the game corner once you have enough coins. Erika probably won't be so bad, but it wouldn't hurt to be prepared for Stun Spore.
>>59607018Yeah with sawk/throh, Lenora is nothing unless she crits you
Today I finally defeated Team Galactic and beat there leader Cyrus. My current team is the pokemon you see in the image. The backup pokemon are the ones I've already mentioned but I did catch a Girantina in the Disortion World.I managed to do all of Mt Coronet and take down Tean Galactic. As for my Cyrus battle, here's how it went down.So first I had Gastrodon take out Houndoom with Surf, Will o Wisp was a pain in the ass to deal with though, then Porygon Zs take out Gyarados with Discharge, next came Honchkrow who was taken out by Magnezones Discharge, now Heatwave did nearly kill Magnezone but Discharge paralysed Honchkrow and slowed it down allowing me to get the next hit in, Lucario took out Weavile with Aura Sphere and Gengar took put Crobat with Shadow Ball.Any advice for the final gym leader Volkner?
>>59607719Yeah I think Burgh might be a bigger deal, I'm not sure I have a great answer to bug Pokemon. Swoobat kinda sucks.
>>59608416Swoobat destroys leavanny? Musharna for whirlipede and throh for dewbble. Or luck into a darumaka in the desert
>>59608929I'm mostly worried about getting swoobat into the fight
This cotton puff has been far better than I have been giving it credit for. A great lead and set up pokemon
>>59609519Puff is great, definitely underrated and can elevate a mid team.
>>59609519Jumpluff is an exceptional nuzlocke mon in almost every game it is in. Fast Stun Spore, Sleep Powder and Leech Seed is all it ever needs to help any squad.
>>59608200Smooth Cyrus fights with no losses are the best, good work! Usually Volknet is solved by a speedy Earthquake user, but Gastrodon isn't speedy. It'll still nullify Electric type moves, but he's got Focus Blast, Giga Impact, and the elemental punches/fangs to worry about too.
Beaten all 8 gym leaders. Here is my current team. No new pokemon.I beat the 8th gym leader Volkner pretty easily. I had Roserade use Toxic Spikes so that the rest of his pokemon would be poisoned, then useful Giga Drain to heal and take out Jolteon with Petal Dance. The rest of his three, Luxray, Electivire and Raichu were taken out by Gastrodon using Mud Bomb. The poisoned helped too though.Any advice for Victory Road?
>>59606898Nice work with the double tap of gyms! I don't think anything left before Victory Road will give you too much trouble, but still a good idea to stay on guard.
>>59612196I honestly think the biggest challenge before the league might be Blaine, who is usually easy. I don't have the water type I usually do.Machamp ought to be good but Fire Blast is strong. My only Fire Resist is Charizard, who at best will be using Dig to hit Fire-types until I beat Giovanni.
>>59570269Shit boys, I’m an oldfag and I’ve never gotten to post in this general all this time just cuz I never do Nuzlockes. Heart & Soul rom made it simple so I figured what the hey. I did randomize wild pokemon no legendaries, kept all the trainers and gym leaders and such the same. This is only the third Nuz I’ve ever beaten.I lost 4 mons along the way, culminating in the devastating loss of my Starmie in this last battle vs Red. RIP Navidad, your Surfs and Psychics were invaluable. All in all, had a great time, loved my team. Puncho was an amazing starter who stayed with me through the very end, lucked out with a Thick Club for Big Bonus, super stressful though. I’ll try another one of these sometime with a harder hack.
Victory Road done. Here is my final team. No new encounters. This is the team I'm bringing to the Elite Four and Champion. I did nearly lose pokemon to the final rival battle with Barry. Here's how I beat him. Porygon Z took out Staraptor with Discharge but nearly fell to Close Combat and Gengar took out Heracross with Shadow Ball but nearly fell to Night Slash, Magnezone used Discharge on Floatzel but nearly fell to Brick Break and even Gastrodon nearly fell to Infernapes Focus Blast but still won with Surf. His Roserade came out next, I sent out my Roserade just to heal Porygon Z and then have Porygon Z use Psybeam and finally Lucario used Close Combat on his Snorlax and was the only pokemon not to take damage. It was stressful.Any advice for the elite four of Sinnoh and the Champion Cynthia?
>>59606898>Vs Blaine>GrowlitheAlvince oneshots it with Thunderbolt.>PonytaIt lives a Thunderbolt on a sliver and hits back with Fire Blast.I set up Light Screen as Blaine uses a Hyper Potion.A better Thunderbolt roll gets the OHKO.>RapidashAlvince takes it out in two Thunderbolts with a Stomp inbetween.>ArcanineI send in Key on a Take Down, then score a Dig Crit for the oneshot.
>>59613138Cynthia's team is ten levels above you, gotta get that grind going. You do that, i think only Lucian will be a threat to you, the others should fall to level difference easy enough.
>>59612420Congrats on the win! Shame about Starmie, it always sucks to lose a team member right at the end, but wishing you luck for whatever your next run is!
>>59613261Even without a Water type Blaine fell pretty easily.Let's hope that Giovanni is just as easy.
>>59613261After remembering Giovanni's only mon over Level 45 is a weak Rhyhorn, I decided against using my Jynx.>Vs Giovanni>RhyhornIt falls to a singular Giga Drain from Dionysos.>DugtrioIt gets an Earthquake off then falls to Giga Drain.>NidoqueenDionysos and Nidoqueen get into a back and forth of Sleep Powders, Secret Powers and Earthquakes. Giovanni ends up using a Hyper Potion.Eventually Nidoqueen goes down.>NidokingIt hits Dionysos with Thrash, and Dionysos puts it to sleep with Sleep Powder.I swap in Key as Giovanni uses a Full Heal.Flamethrower does a ton of damage, and Thrash doesn't do that much in return. Another Flamethrower takes it out.>Rhyhorn 2I send in Ameline in on Scary Face, then gets the KO with Water Pulse.
>>59617741Annoyingly for me, I lost Key the Charizard to Cue Ball Paxton's Weezing scoring a Selfdestruct crit right after this. Right after I used the Earthquake TM on him too.
>>59617744Damn
>>59617741New Ducktales and Dragon Strikers, how old are your kids?
>>59617744Aw, that sucks dude. Who are you replacing him with?
Past experiences fucked my brain up, swoobat swept Burgh easily. I think Bianca and Cheren will be easy, I'm feeling motivated to do a couple more gyms today
>>59619715Be careful with the N fight in Nimbasa City. Common run ender right there. Good luck.
>>59619936Man thanks for the reminder, I was just about to step into nimbasa and I forgot about him
>>59620006You can go into Nimbasa but you have to fight plasma grunts. N's fight is at the ferris wheel, which you have to walk to. After you fight the grunts, you can use the big/small court for daily trainer battles whose levels are in the 20s
>>59619715What's the plan gonna be for Elesa? She's not gonna be eady no matter what you get.
I was debating whether I should do this update before or after the Pokemon Tower rival fight, but I'm impatient, so I'm just gonna post now. I'm especially annoyed that my fucking Ekans died after just picking up at the daycare (where I had it the whole time since I caught it) and being ONE fucking level from evolution. I don't fault anybody for not paying attention to my updates/not knowing this, but this is my second run of Japanese Red now after the last one wiped in Victory Road (oof), and in the first run the same shit happened to me. I had an Ekans one level away from evolution and the fucker died. At this point I'm convinced that I have some kind of curse when it come to Ekans or something. Next opportunity I'll have at one will be US Red and I'm not so sure I want to continue this shit of getting so close just to lose it to some impulsive stupid shit.Anyway, Pokemon Tower speedrun coming up: I bought a Pokedoll and I'm gonna just skip the whole Rocket Hideout segment and trick mother Marowak into thinking she is reuniting with her child when its actually a doll (kek). Unfortunately, that also means I also miss out on Gastly/Haunter, but whatever there will be other chances at using them.Wish me luck I guess.
>playing white, going for a sandile>get a darumaka route 4>try the relic castle for a 50/50, get yamask>try the desert resort>maractus
>>59570269What DS/3DS game is the most fun for nuzlockes?
>>59622539godspeed buddy, rip ekans, you'll get that arbok next time
>>59622554Repelling with lev 21 or 22 in desert resort that is normally 40% sandile and 10% dwebble is prob something like 80% sandile then (just a guesstimate)? I think your relic castle yamask could've helped with that. It's not the worst thing. Lots of pokemon can still use ground/rock tm's. What relic fossil did you choose? In that town you revive it, there is also a chance to get a prankster Cottonee instead of the fossil poke via trade with a petilil if you luck into getting one in the lostlorn forest. Either is hella good
>>59622921oh i guess u got the maractus before yamask
>>59622568I think that cones down to personal preference. You might enjoy Platinum and Black and White's slower beginning but not Heartgold's E4 grinding.
Hey guys, just felt like mentioning that I love you all.
Here we go, HGSS Ratatta Run V2- Six Rattata's, All Equal in Stats- Can learn all HM's for ease- Lucky Eggs as I'm playing on my DSLast time I tried a few years back I got walled out by the Steel Gym.Would it be overkill if I gave some of the egg moves like Flame Charge?
>>59624502Isn't Flame Charge a gen 5 and on move? Or have you backported a few moves? Either way, good luck!
>>59625913Whoops I meant Flame Wheel. It's like the only cool thing it gets via Egg Moves and it would be good coverage.
>>59624255love to yall too
Started a fully randomized infinite fusion nuzlocke.Encounters so far have been total disasters with either accidental crits, seppukus via Take-Down, or simple stubborn refusal to be caught. My team before Brock currently consists of >Ted the StuffulMy starter, not a single thought lies behind those eyes. Trainer ID dictated I take them over Venonat and Jangmo-o who Gary fused into an unholy (and thankfully useless for the moment) monstrosity.>Wilford the SealeoI'm allowing gift mons as long as they're the first encounter in an area due to the randomization meaning they won't necessarily provide any great advantage. Got this guy from a delivery man in Veridian City.>Floatie the MarillFound in Veridian Forest after a long chain of fucked encounters, sassy nature. It hates that it was caught, it hates that it can't swim yet, and it especially hates me.>Pistachio the ChespinFound on Route 3 as the final encounter before prepping for Brock, he's just a sleepy little guy that somehow took like 10 pokeballs to catch despite being in the red for most of that time.Brock's randomized typing is Ghost meaning that whatever happens Ted's probably going to be useless. Hooray!
just swept n in nimbasa with herdierfucker deserved it after jumpscaring me and ending my first run
>>59624255Love you too anon.>>59626456Coverage is good, i don't see why not if it'll help you advance further.
>>59627256>Brock had a Giratina/Charizard combo that crit three times in a rowokay fuck run dead.let's try again.
>>59621157I'm not sure on this one. I'm trying to pick a team now, I've had good luck so far and I've got a lot to pick from. I'm going to sit Otis (Swoobat) and put in Sandile (little bitter he's got moxie not intimidate though), and I think Musharna and Servine are my sacrifices if things go wrong. I've got a bit of grinding to do, I don't really want to go in with anything under 25 but audinos on route 5 shit exp. My Archen is Adamant with a beastly attack iv, pretty much the only pokemon I've got so far with an ideal nature, she's definitely going to see some play AFTER gym 4.Any anons have suggestions?
wow elesa is scarynobody died but wtf
>>59629631Damn anon, I'm a little afraid to fight her now.
>>59629648are you >>59628926 ?you'll probs be fine. i played like shit and got lucky with dodging paralysis and hitting through hustle.
>>59629662Yeah that's me. Elesa is at such a rough level range, Sandile doesn't even evolve until 29.
>>59628926You got pound and double slap on Audino, lol. Give it like secret power (chance to paralyze in this gen I think) or retaliate (good for revenge killing). Payback is better when sandile is slower, so maybe paralysis is bad. Audino gets sitrus berry, maybe sandile or something else gets eviolite.A bad nature would change the results, butMusharna is bulky af and prob 2 hits an Emolga. Lucky Chant may be useful. Audino can maybe 3 hit an Emolga. Payback Sandile slower than Emolga two hits them and gets a Moxie. Throh is pretty decent against Zebstrika. You can do Reflect or Light Screen strats to help out. Like, Audino does Retaliate twice, then does a Reflect, then swaps to Sandile free cause they keep Volt-switching. You got 3 turns of +2 def (and more w/ Eviolite), and it'll take you 2 turns to kill w/ Payback and get a +1 atk Moxie for the next poke, which I'm guessing it's gonna be Zebstrika, to which you then do Dig and prob knock it out.Unless you know the AI, sorta hard to predict when Zebstrika is gonna come out next. But I think after it comes out, it very rarely does Volt Switch again for some AI stupidity issueI guess the rest of you team could be fodder mon in case you need someone to die. GL
>>59630162Oh Spark can cause paralysis so consider Cheri berry on who you plan on taking Zebstrika if it isn't sandile
>>59630162Movesets suck ass I'm working with what I have. If I'm missing secret power I was probably just not paying attention while I was grinding.
>>59630186Eh, Retaliate is good enough. Also, consider putting a burn or poison on Guts Throh. A crit screws you up either way, but 2 turns vs 3 turns reduces the chance.Just put it all in a calc when you get to the level cap. But Audino, Musharna, Sandile, and Throh and the guys I'm looking at. Yamask cooould do Will-o-(miss) to give a burn and -2 atk, and Gothita coould use Fake tears to help out, idk, Musharna, but idk if they're bulky enough to do something unless they got a free switch in or are holding the precious Eviolite instead of Sandile. Acid Spray Trubbish might actually be better to reduce their sp.def.
>>59628785Well, that didn't last very long. Here's hoping attempt 2 goes better for you.
>>59628785Attempt number 4.Attempts 2 and 3 were stillborn after getting murdered by gary.Attempt number 4 is not going very well, already have more deaths than catches, many of which were caused by my desperate attempt to bring my current ace to heel.My current ragtag gaggle of survivors consists of>Sandman the SandygastStarter, ghost typing saved it's ass several times despite it's current moveset being some weak shit.>Rodan the AerodactylA hateful and eternally enraged monster. Pegged most of my initial team to death before we were finally able to bring her to heel, but it was worth it. They solo'd Brock who was thankfully just a shitter with ground types this time around.>Chel the NatuKind of just luckshittered her way into not getting murdered by Rodan or some rando with bullshit, she doesn't have a particularly great move pool yet but they DO have teleport which is very convenient for travel as this game treats it like a slightly better version of Fly. pls don't die.Until about 2 minutes ago I also had a Ninetales that was found abandoned on the side of the road at a local hotel but she died to Dragon Rape during a routine trainer battle. All encounters up to and including mount moon have been triggered with some being too dangerous to pursue and the others we did manage to catch mostly being corpses now. I am not a very good trainer.
>>59629631Yeah, there's always that one early to mid game gym leader that's scary to go up against. You're very fortunate to not have lost anyone against Elesa.
Ratatta Run - The RaturnSo PKHex didn't work quite right so all my Rats were Lv 1. They don't have any egg moves, but they can learn all HM's.Last time I couldn't beat Steelix.Wish me luck. I'll update at key moments.
>>59632243luck be with ya
>>59631164>I am not a very good trainer.saaame
Happy Birthday 4chan. I feel like this is the only home and community that I have in this horrible world so I love 4chan and I love /vp/.Still currently grinding my team, it's taking some time because I'm going at a slower pace but I will eventually return and have beaten Cynthia. My team are all level 55 at the moment.Love you all and hope you all win.
>>59631164After carefully poking my way through Mount Moon I've arrived at Cerulean City. Route 4 gave me my first fused abomination which my AI slop machine can't really figure out so it's just a sprite of Dethpicable the Pidgiduck. Half Pidgeotto, half Psyduck.I didn't realize I could join Team Rocket in Fusion so I did, and before returning to town got jumpscared by an Electrode hiding in some rocks. Thankfully they didn't know self-destruct yet so catching it went relatively easily. Welcome to the team 'RRRREEEEEEE'Meanwhile at the team rocket hideout my new commander gave me my first job as a member of team rocket, which was to clear out a supposed pest infestation in the basement. I figured it was a task for our resident rabid animal so threw Rodan's pokeball down there and let her do her thing.Checked later and the randomizer decided it was,uh, an innocent family of Espeons. But hey I caught one and spared her from the rest of her family's fate! I'll name her Trauma. At least after I die Rodan and myself can look forward to taking the league challenge in hell.
HGSS, No-healing+Set Mode but no level caps because grinding is a sufficient mechanic stopping overleveling and I prefer to be bit underleveled, anyway.Just beat Whitney, fight was actually pretty easy - I spend kinda autistic amount of time powergrinding coins and bought few TMs and items for my squad.>Mari blasted Clefairy with Thunderbolt.>Miltank tried to hit her with Stomp but it just allowed me to burn it's Lum Berry and paralyze her in one turn with static + T-Wave.>Then I swapped to Dante, used few times SD and Sythesis (slowed down a bit by Attract but the hellcow also lost few turns to paralysis so ehh) and then finished the fight with two Razor Leaves.
>>59633750Nice work. Keep that Geodude safe, he'll serve you well later on.
