Give it another weakness already. One that resists it too.
>>59586951Poison
>>59586951Weak to StellarResists Grass
We need a wind or sonic type that beats and resists it.
>>59586951Well the obvious thing to do is give a boost to an underpowered type such as Ice, Poison, or Bug. And I'd say all three work because ice freezes water, poison contaminates water, and there are some places (usually really poor third world countries) where no clean water exists and you have to drink water with bugs in them. I'd say Ice probably needs this the most as it literally only resists itself and could use a resistance to water.
>>59586951Weak to ice or poison
>>59586951Ice resisting and beating water could be interesting. Freeze dry was seemingly an experiment in this and they ought to just go for it. Ice could use a resist.
They should really split it into Water and Salt Water at this point, like the ground and rock typing. I think it's either most numerous or second most numerous type.
>>59587065yeah that's gotta be the dumbest idea i've ever heard. splitting flying and wind like i've seen some people suggest is already stupid and splitting fairy and light type is also retarded because fairy already plays the role of the light type and "light type" is a bit too vague but splitting water and salt water sure takes the cake of retarded ideas
>>59586951Poison, for a second I thought that Water dilutes poison but apparently it makes it worse. Poison is also pretty bad offensively, Sneasler is an exception because of broken signature move + fighting type
>>59587080Fresh water fish can't survive in salt water, and vice versa due to inherently different mechanics. You could make them super effective against each other. Then you could give salt fun type advantages like SE against steel and grass.
Resisted by Ice and weak to Poison.>inb4 sharty
>>59587065problem is there are already Pokemon that are able to live in both and it is intentional by design like Magikarp and Sharpedo
>>59587119This is actually a pretty good idea. Ice is great offensively but atrocious defensively and Poison is the other way around.
campaignshitter thread
Ice should be weak to Water.
>>5958712450/50 chance like abilities or dependent on where you catch them. Gotta keep them on their toes. ;)
>>59586951Ice resists water, but isn't SE on itPoison is SE, but doesn't resist itBug has nothing to do with water, it should resist fairy but that's a different threadThere>inb4 "noo u cant have 2 types of the starter triangle sharing a weakness!"If they can overlap resistances they can overlap weaknesses
>>59587065Make it Water and Fish type.
>>59587326ok, but remove its fighting weakness, cause that's literally based on charlatans, not karate men.
>>59587381It's funny, cause yu-gi-oh has Fish, Aqua and Sea Serpent and didn't need them. Pokemon could use some kind of water split. Cause why is a fish weak to grass? It doesn't really make sense.
Swampert says not to make it weak to ice or he'll become the new torterra
Rock should resist water.
>>59587428if he dies, he dies.rocky4
>>59587065>They should really split it into Water and Salt Water at this point
>>59587065>like the ground and rock typingBut thats what Water and Ice is?
>>59587360Steel should be weak & strong against IceWater should not resist Steel.Rock should resist & strong against IceRock should be neutral to & fro WaterIce should resist water & vice versaA Normal type Sound themed variant of FreezeDry should exist.

>>59586951Ground
>>59586962>windflying>sonicnormal
>>59587155Water types have consistently been top tier wdym?
>>59586951Add a biotic type (microorganisms, fungus, bacteria) and make it super effective against water.
>>59587884and give Water a Fighting resist
>>59586953this but have them super effective against each otherpoison pollutes waterwater dilutes poison
>>59586953Yeah Poison is the best candidate, though only be super-effective against it.Ice could potentially resist it, but then you have a situation where the two resist each other.Though there is potential there, too. Freeze Dry is super-effective against Water, so maybe Scald should be super-effective against Ice?Scald has a 30% chance to Burn, while Freeze Dry only has 10% chance to freeze. Maybe ramp that up to 50%, but only against Water?
>>59586951Why does every type need to be perfectly balanced, what you actually want is a stat buff to weaker typed pokemon, cause a water nerf isn't going to make the average bug and poison mon any better
