Your best bet is to catch a poliwag on route 30 at night, and get it to lv 7 when it learns hypnosis, and then use it the following morning, putting them to sleep ASAP. Its quick enough to always go first, and 60% accuracy is a better shot than their 50% chance to flee. Also, bubble is weak enough to safely chip them down, even considering phanpy's weakness to it.

>>59601283I think you got Teddiursa/Ursaring mixed up with Phanpy/Donphan. Phanpy/Donphan literally get zero Ground type moves till Earthquake and only Earthquake at level 50. Till then you're stuck with Normal type moves and Rollout. Teddiursa/Ursaring at least get STAB from their Normal moves and Faint Attack to hit Ghost types.

Early on in the game your options are pretty unexciting, usually just a bunch of early Normal and Bug types who only have Normal type attacks but then you have this badass Electric sheep. Removing Mareep is the equivalent of removing Shinx and then in gen 3 Ralts is that equivalent so it'd be odd without Ralts. I know Ralts isn't Electric but just like Mareep and Shinx it's a strong three stage evolution line you can get early on that evolves reasonably early and is of a type that's rare early on in the game.
>>59602547mareep equals shinx i mean sure, obviously but i think equating them to ralts is a bit of a reach. not everything has a different gen equivalent. even if not for the typing ralts and kirlia are practically useless before evolving into gardevoir. kirlia the second stage has the same stats as most pokemon's first stage and around the same as mareep and shinx. and along with that ralts is a lot harder to find compared to mareep and shinx. much lower encounter rate plus it can be only be found on exactly one route. mareep and shinx are unique in their different gen parallels

i remember always soft resetting for the egg to get a shiny tyrogue since i really liked hitmontop's shiny. easy as shit on an emulator but hard as shit on a real device. on an emulator all you have to do is hit the speed button and suddenly the 1% chance for a shiny tyrogue doesn't seem so low anymore. it's the rarest odd egg shiny besides shiny pichu which is also 1%

And if you wanted the Igglybuff dex entry all you have to do is grab a Ditto which is also right next to the Daycare and breed it with Jigglypuff and voila. Meanwhile the other Odd Egg Pokemon (or rather their evolved forms) are a lot harder to get appearing way later in the game and/or in Kanto.

You can hatch eggs in like a minute from getting on your bike and running back and forth from the top to bottom of Goldenrod City. If it's an actual proper device though? I probably wouldn't if I were you. Hatching eggs without the speed up button is hell, especially in gen 2 which is kinda slow in general and there's no Flame Body ability. I would only do it if you have REALLY good patience. That or if you wanna get on with the story leave the Odd Egg from the postgame or something.

It's just sort of a very calm and relaxing shade of green that's soft and cute. And then Ursaring ruins it and turns it into the stereotypical bright lime puke snot baby shit green everyone hates that's especially common from brown Pokemon turning into green Shinies. And then Ursaluna's Shiny is...eh. It's almost a good Shiny but a bit too subtle. The red should be brighter and more vivid. Overall though Ursaring and Ursaluna should've followed Teddiursa's lead.
