With DPPT, it was a sprite world with some limited 3D, while BW uses an entirely 3D world which makes the game look much more aged than it should beBut also, game freak fixed the back sprites in this generation, which very big pokemon especially loved. Go look at Salamence's sprite between gen 4 and gen 5. In gen 5, you can see his full body, tail, wings, the full monster that it is. And in gen 4 you get the N E C K which always looked silly. Another terrible gen 4 backsprite is Togekiss.Im not sure why the backsprites arent more commented on, since theyre how you usually see your Pokemon and it always bothered me that big pokemon in previous generations had such aura losses when you saw their back sides in battle

I miss the vibe of this generation. The futuristic UI, the black/white checker pattern, the somber tone, etc.. It had a bit of a shonen vibe to it similar to Yugioh 5Ds. But also like 5Ds, it was hated by disgruntled old fans before it became beloved by the general fanbase.
