>>59605605That's not how it works. Gen 2 and gen 3 are completely different regions. Emerald made Ruby and Sapphire obsolete. Yellow made Red and Blue obsolete and then FireRed and LeafGreen made Yellow obsolete. And then HeartGold and SoulSilver made Crystal obsolete and Platinum made Diamond and Pearl obsolete. The obsolete shit stopped after gen 4 because gen 5 was perfect and Black 2 and White 2 were sequels instead of remakes and then gen 6+ was too shitty to make anything obsolete. Emerald is better than Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby and Platinum is better than Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

I've played Crystal on any device i ever owned, my physical collection is complete when it comes to Gen 2 which consists of GSC both EN and JP copies, both Stadium games, 2 GBCs, the pikachu edition of N64 with 2 controllers and transfer paks and lastly, the JP only pikachu edition of Gameboy Printer. Over the years i also managed to make a romhack implementing features in crystal i always wanted like Gym rematches, no trade evolutions being possible without actual trading, and many more. Its essentially Crystal with true QoL features and tweaks, no changes to gameplay or balance.One key memory of mine was one time long ago, during christmas, i was emulating Crystal on my PSP and was hunting the pokemon Bill's grandfather wanted to see. This combination of comfiness, how good the game looks especially during night time that i was playing, the general feel made it one of the moments involving Crystal i will never forget. >>59608245Uh you can literally get all three starters in the same save file without needing to trade or anything. That's a pretty huge plus. Plus much better sprites. The back sprites are unfortunately the same but the front sprites are way better and look more like the Pokemon they're supposed to be. Plus an early version of Pokemon following you even if it is only with Pikachu.
