>>59630793There's definitely a problem brewing with megas, they're making pokemon become way too unpredictable since they can be played in several different ways, with several different movesets and stat distributions, and change their Typing on mega-evolution or forego mega-evolving all together and catch you off guard with Choice Scarf. FORTUNATELY, people are all a bunch of sheep so you can count on 99% of them all playing the meta-strat.

I think the real issue with Pikachu having a Mega-evolution is that they'd feel obligated to make Ash's Pikachu in the anime have that transformation and they don't want to make that a regular thing where Pikachu mega-evolves every episode to zap Team Rocket and blast them off again. Like, Sailor Moon SuperS got really dumb when Chibiusa had to ring the Twinkle Bell every time to enable Sailor Moon to use Moon Gorgeous Meditation. That's how I feel Mega Pikachu would be handled. It's just the same "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" but with extra steps.
