The area outside the lab hosts all the garden variety shitmons we know and love. Among them are an Ekans and Spinarak.I have very low hopes and expectations for Spinarak, but Ekans will probably be an important staple once I find one with the intimidate ability. Nevertheless, at this point with limited options bulk is king and having a team of 6 will prove valuable. Hunting for an intimidate ekans I found another spinarak that is shiny so I'll nab that one instead. The shiny rate in general seems quite high so if they're super common I might try and use shiny and non-shiny variants for different roles within the same species if it comes to that. Another new pokemon I'm not familiar with. It has the stats to potentially be a good physical attacker when it evolves but it also has the prankster ability which could be infinitely useful in the long run as a screen or status setter. Might be another contender to have a couple different copies for various roles.Probably the thing I miss most from rejuv this early on is the integrated pokedex. I doubt many people would remember it even when they finished chapter 16you could argue that Madame X acting weird compared to her appearance in the castle is a bit of foreshadowing, but that could have so many explanations it's not even worth to think of it as foreshadowing

Ready to try the first gym. The team so far:Trubbish should be pretty strong here. It learned toxic spikes at level 15 which should be great for 6-pokemon battles like this, if it can manage to set it up. Ivysaur also resists electric and has leech seed and just learned seed bomb. Spinarak doesn't even evolve by the 20 level cap so that thing is just a brick for now with its awful moveset. The rest are just assorted "slow kind of tanky but not really" poison types that made me not particularly fond of the type in regular playthroughs.
