No, this time either I had the right team and could clear the entire fight in just 3 tickets or I didn't and could only manage 30k points, no in between. Candying wouldn't have helped.
Also my gym recruited good players since the first two runs of GvG and now we're always placing top 200-300 without coordination so there's no stakes anymore. We'll never reach top 100 but individual performance is enough to guarantee top 500 comfortably.

I had to get Anniversary Lucas and had to push through with my 1/5 AS Lamce and 1/5 Leon for Physical Attacks. Naturally, Leon uses the Sync move. Surprisingly, AS Lance is kinda hardy and can actually survive a Giga Impact after Lucas died and all that's left of the opponent is Seismitoad.

Maxie isn't completely terrible either. Ground already has decent Ex setters and a tanlky support that can fuel the zone is helpful. Rika is not that great.

SS Ball Guy is more of a threat thanks to his Superawakening than his 3/5 as a Seasonal would be. Meanwhile Lana, Archie, and Maxie aren't as costly for their full functionality. Anyway, Lana only feels ahead as a Seasonal because Dragon Supports were very behind. And now we have NC Lucas so her effectiveness is conditional rather than necessarily optimal anyway.
