They were never fun to watch and annoyed me even then. Alternatively, the same writer was using these episodes to traumadump or as pseudotherapy, it's why you get one episode where a character is great and another where they're insufferable or even out of character.

>>59654453Slightly unrelated but I will always hate how the anime standardized the games making every Meowth from gen 2 onward walk on two legs. It defeats the purpose of Team Rocket's Meowth being special. He is special BECAUSE he walks on two legs and talks. Meowth are much cuter when on all fours. Only in gen 1 are Meowth other than Team Rocket's on all fours (such as the ones in the episode, or Meowth's clone in the first movie), and the Red/Blue sprite is adorable. They ruined it by making all Meowth stand on two legs from gen 2 on which just makes no sense.

You'd have a leg to stand on in this argument if the Meowth in the sprite example you gave didn't have its ass planted on the ground, but it does, with no legs extended. But if you want to debate interpretation and semantics, then I'll pass.
