I just wanted to show everyone my pokefusions before I turn them into armor for eeveelutions
By the way OP is a Mossad agent trying to send subliminal messages to get unsuspecting anons to fetishize clams
>>59658242wneko is that you
>>59658242I misread that as armor digivolutions and was almost interested.
Neat that you're still around.>>59658487Art style checks out.
>>59658901>>59658487Huh there are people who remember me on here
>>59659969To give my two cents and a bit of glazing, your art style is quite interesting given the limits of MS Paint (I assume you used?). Especially your shading techniques to add volume and different textures makes your art pleasing to look at. JWNutz's art for comparison lacks this depth and looks more plain, even though it shares similarities to your works (aliasing / "hard pixels", hard black outlines, few colors without complex shading) >https://www.deviantart.com/jwnutz/gallery/all?order=newestAlso the "Frankenstein's pokemonster" fusions are a unique contrast to how pokemon fusions are usually depicted as this complete blend of both or more pokemon. A certain scientist from Galar would be very intrigued by it.By any chance, do you still have a backup of your old art (picrel) you posted here back then (2013 - 2014)? Only some of your fusions (like >>59658901) were reposted on your old DA (waratteruNeko), the rest was available on 4Chan and on an deleted old Tumblr of yours (askgrinningcat). From what I could gather, there are only defunct Tumblr saves without images on the Waybackmachine, and the images on 4Chan from those years are irredeemably lost because of issues with the 4Chan-archives. All I could recover are low-res thumbnails seen in picrel, the images themselves are lost media.
>>59660986Oh wow, this was several laptops ago, I don't have saved copies of them anymore. Although, this was around when Digimon Xros Wars was airing so I took inspiration for my pokefusions from that anime. I'm pretty sure I was still in college back then and I've been in the work force for a decade by now
>>59661720That's unfortunate, but given how long it's been, I guess the likelyhood of recovering those was low to begin with. Thanks nonetheless (both fascinating and disturbing how fast time goes by). Was that Sceptile x Blaziken x Swampert fusion similarly weird like the Gen1 and Gen2 starter fusions? Can't exactly make out the details because of the thumbnail's low resolution.A couple questions regarding your art, since I'm curious:>Mouse or tablet, what's better or more comfortable / easier to use?>What software would you recommend? Is something as simple as MS Paint enough or is more advanced stuff like Photoshop or GIMP necessary?>Do you work with multiple layers? Or is everything done on one sheet?>Do you randomly choose brighter and darker color tones for the colors you want to shade? Or do you work with different transparent layers (with 50% transparency for example) where you can add transparent white or black strokes?>Do you start with bigger brushes (e.g. 5x5 squares) for rough outlines and then correct those with smaller ones (e.g. 3x3) and the eraser? Or is everything done in one try?
>>59663379I use a mouse, personally. My hands shake so the added stability of a mouse helps out a lot.As for art, I use MSPaint, so I only have one layer to work with. I just use gray for the sketch then draw over it with black, using the eraser tool to remove the gray. For outlines, I actually start off with a 4 px brush, then go over areas I need to thicken with thicker brushes. For colors, I use the MSPaint's color picker tool and either go left, or right, then increase or decrease the brightness as needed.Mostly, I make original non pokemon monsters now.
