>The next gym is right past this route let's go!>Play mini game to get to gym leader>What a battle here's your badge!>Meet me at (random art installation/restaurant) now that you have your badge!>The next gym is right past this route let's go!>Repeat until the endJust beat this game and that's all there was. No legendary birds, no hidden locations with a mythical/Mewtwo-like battle, nothing. Everything was straight-forward filler. Now the post game is just some autism simulator tower. Is something being overlooked or was this the laziest game in Pokemon history? What Pokemon are exclusive to these games that aren't in Pokemon Go? >Just buy the expansion passCharging twice for the exact same thing across both games is crazy. $200 after taxes for the most hollow experience is maximum cuckolding. Got this for $40 on sale and still feel ripped off.
>>59696210>Is something being overlooked or was this the laziest game in Pokemon history? The latter. Practically nobody tries to defend Gen 8 anymore because it really was just pure shit.
>>59696210>no hidden locations with a mythical/Mewtwo-like battle, nothingno dude you don't get it you're meant to explore the wild area which has... uh... um... uhhhh......
>>59696210Still rather play this than SV
>>59696210Louder for the people saying Gen 2 is the worst gen
>>59696352true
>>59696210Breeding and shiny hunting legendaries are the only good things about SwSh
>>59696210Did not play any of the switch games and never owned a switch but I heard you also get a curry cooking minigame or some shit so there's that. Like in generation 9 where you get to make some hyper realistic sandwiches like in papa's pizzeria or how were those flash games called
>>59696210The GBA port is MUCH better.
>>59696507You level really fast in Shield and Sword. Your starter is the advantage typing against your rival too and he battles you once, sometimes twice at each gym for a generous amount of exp. You also get several rare candies and exp candies through each den raid. Most people don't even cook in this gen with how fast these games move.
>>59696501Why do players try so hard for eggs with perfect EVs? Aren't EV/IV able to be reset in end game and maxed with vitamins and bottle caps? I've seen videos where players release their shiny hatched eggs because of imperfect EVs. Isn't that a waste when the end result is the same?
>>59698205>I've seen videos where players release their shiny hatched eggs because of imperfect EVsOkay, that's retarded. Hyper training can fix that.
>>59696210Good girls, good dex besides the starters and lack of legendaries. rest of the game is meh
>>59698353The starters were fun with their hidden abilities. Having all three in the beginning made the progression enjoyable. The game was over fast though. Nothing stood out story wise and I never played with the mons or made a meal. Finished with my team nearly level 80 and that's only going against the forced encounter trainers, no grinding. No post game either. Battle tower is not a challenge for 9 out of 10 players and online battles are mirror matches of copy paste builds. I liked the first playthrough a lot but I'll never play it again.
>>59698326Why are there so many guides on getting high stats on shiny eggs then? There are dozens of SwSh guides when you can just hyper train and use vitamins in a matter of seconds. Is there some benefit to it? Or do some players just have undiagnosed autism?
>is something being overlookedIt was designed to be a jumping in point for competitive play. The multiplayer seasons + local competition feature + PokeJobs + expanding vitamin items + availability of Bottle Caps + mints were all set up in a way to improve that aspect of the games. This is also why the Battle Tower was redesigned to use the online rank system and why Y-Comm existed, they wanted to do a PSS-type system again.
>>59698326I usually gave them away.
>>59700093This is the result of someone who was raised right.>>59698205This is the result of letting a device raise your kid.
>>59696210you just described every Pokemon game since gen 5. Oh but let me guess you're a hyper zoomer who doesn't remember the "Unova is a circle xD" days
>>59699970Looking at it this way makes sense. Is this the way you see it or did the development team name remarks that pointed this out? Do those games still have ranked? Can't imagine they would still be running seasons all these years later. I got Diamond/Pearl on Switch and skipped everything else current gen. Kind of regret not having given them a try now.
>>59696361I've literally never once heard this. If anything most of the fan base whines how current games aren't like generation 1 and 2. That and how the games should go back to being 2D.
