why isn't Decidueye more popular? It's not my favorite starter, but there's nothing here I don't love

SLOW

wdym it's a really popular starter
it's just kind of a shitmon
and mogged by its funny round ball base stage in the fanbase
>>
>>59705564
because he does the nazi salute

I was just about to make a thread asking how GF could've fumbled such a banger design:
>Long Reach LMAO
>Offensive Grass is terrible
>No significant role in singles/vgc
>"The Hoenn Special" distribution of stats
>Fucking abysmal movepool & even less covereage
>In desperate need of a Shell Smash equivalent to get SOMETHING going

We'll see crumbs of a buff in gen35...
>>
>>59705564
Decidueye is already more popular than it deserves to be. It's the only one that isn't controversial, it benefits from being the evolution of one of the best starters in the franchise, and the TPC still holds a grudge against its biggest rival.
>>
because rowlet is more popular, the reason ash rolewt didnt evolve

it's weird that it's a shitmon considering how strong they made Primarina and Incineroar

>Decidueye is already more popular than it deserves to be.
why doesn't it "deserve" to be popular?

Decidueye would be burned alive on a wooden stake if it wasn't an owl.
It's design is literally what's preventing the Pokemon from being widely hated like Meganium.

After Gen 6 they’ve intentionally make one starter of each trio the designated flop starter and sabotage it in someway to make the Shill starter look better. before then entire trios where shilled (1,3,4), or made to flop (2,5)
>Decidueye
>Inteleon
>PLA is weird since PLA as a whole was clearly made to flop and got no marketing, but they did the impossible and made H. decidueye a bigger shitmon while H. typhlosion and H. Samurrot accomplish things in VGC and Singlws respectively
>The duck
>skibidi toilet
>>
>>59705564
>three threads with Decidueyes on the catalog
What’s going on here?
>>
>still giving a shit about popularity rankings or ingame stats and not just using whatever pokemon (You) like
ishygddt
>>
>gets terrible stats and a laughably useless signature ability, especially compared to how good Incineroar and Primarina are
>barely featured in the anime compared to Incineroar and Primarina
>considered for Smash, gets passed up for Incineroar
>doesn't even fire arrows in games anymore, its animation got deleted
>gets a regional form that's slightly better but still shit
If anything, Decidueye is quite popular for something that got sabotaged so badly.
