It's worth mentioning that the original RCT1 still works pretty well on modern OSes. Or at the very least it has a functional windowed mode unlike RCT2. If you really want to play the original version there's nothing stopping you.

Small props i've made. I don't know why i'm making them. I googled tundra and just made things i saw, i'm having an ok time.

In order it's, corn, dwarf willow (should probably be more yellow), some kind of flower, artic lupine, bearberries, long grass, moss
>>
>>12560208
Especially the recent GOG version since it has some type of Direct X fixes. Although if you're running Mac or Linux I don't think it would change anything for running it on WINE.
>>
I've never actually been to an amusement park are there really rides in real life where you just get in a slow car and ride along a track looking at shit?

>>12561374
The particularly noteworthy one gives you an accelerator. But yes, there are plenty of scenic rides with individual cars.
>>
>>12561374
Yes? Like half of the rides at Disney parks are like that.
>>
>>12561374
They aren't exactly like that but like yeah, boat rides make up like half of Disney and Universal.
Six Flags (now also Cedar Fair) parks usually focus heavy on rollercoaster and thrilling flat rides with minimal themeing. That being said, however, there are hidden gems of rides throughout the industry that I would say are Disney quality but not at Disney, like Monster Mansion at Six Flags Over Georgia.
What park do you live closest to?
>>
>>12561481
I'm in Nova Scotia and nearly all the parks around here are just water parks. There's probably a podunk roller coaster somewhere around here.
>>
>>12561638
Upper Clements used to have a PTC woodie before it shut down but the park is gone
>>
>>12561374
Yes, these are fairly common. Car rides are mostly made for children. The center rail guarantees that the car will not drive off of the track, but the "driver" maintains some control with a steering wheel and a gas pedal with a strict limiter. It allows children to experience the illusion of driving.
>>
guys we forgot to build any info kiosks
>>
>>12562120
When i made the map i think i was trying to be funny and i hid it at the end of the shopping research list but i don't if the anon who hosts changes that or if you can just unlock everything with cheats. I also put drinks further in iirc
>>
I was hoping someone would name the Monorail that.
>>
>>12562198
Nice. I didn't notice at all when setting up the map. That's a cool way to prevent us from cheesing the scenario.
>>
>>12561638
>closest regional park is an 11 hour drive away, and it's La Ronde
Even as an American I am stunned at how fucking big Canada is.
If you ever get the chance to go to Toronto, definitely take the opportunity to hit up Canada's Wonderland. It's one of the most visited parks in the world and for good reason.
>>
>>12561638
I'm in the PNW and the closest "major" park is Wild Waves and I don't think its added any ride to it since the last time I visited 20 years ago (also its closing this year). There's another park much closer but its too expensive for what it is.
>>
>>12561765
>Upper Clements
Apparently they had a car ride too
>>
>>12563048
Playland in Vancouver is alright but it's small, though based on what I'm seeing of Wild Waves probably roughly the same size and attraction density all things considered.
>Wooden Rollercoaster 2
>Corkscrew 1 (removed)
>>12562353
It's a shame Marine Land is closing because they have one of the biggest, strangest, and most interesting Arrow corkscrews left.
>>12563283
It's a shame, we just don't really have any parks up here.

If I remember this park correctly, it has a build height limit, so that's on purpose.

I should really commit and actually finish these textures instead of just messing around. There's like a dozen errors here, including half the muscle terrain being rendered in the wrong direction; but a single terrain set is 58 textures (and the cliff is 100+), it's a lot more fun to make them than playing file system manager

Anyway, Meatland appears
>>

I love meatland and the moon gravel texture
>>

I wish that ride type had sloped brakes. That last drop into the station would be perfect for a brake run.

>>
>>12579237
I like this map a lot. The suspended swinging coaster might just be the best one I have ever built. That being said, we need a smaller map next weekend.
>>
>>12579246
agreed, it's a fun map but I think the massive maps tend to dissuade people from building as weird as that is.
>>
>>12579397
For me it's more the lack of inspiring terrain. Though yeah a huge map certainly doesn't help. I like a nice mid sized large map and trying to add density.
>>
>>12579457
that makes sense, I brought up the idea of someone doing an expansion on the Okinawa Coast scenario earlier and that could be fun to re-imagine a shitty scenario. Although, the map itself would have to be bigger.
>>
>>12580448
>Although, the map itself would have to be bigger.
I genuinely don't think so. Just take what's there and remove the park boundary on each side of the coast and more into the water, and the two islands.

No way is this enough space. Not unless you include the water, which is boring to build on unless we go balls deep into boardwalks.
>>
>>12580905
I envision one pier and the coasters do stuff out over water. Between the land and pier, that's enough space.
>>
>>12580909
I agree actually, I can see it working if we build the boardwalk with the 2 small islands on the right side in mind.

>>
A boardwalk is a strip that borders something, whether between storefronts and a thoroughfare or between a beach and a city. A pier is a straight shot of a reasonable breadth out over the water. I don't know what to call a honkin' slab of platform over water but it ain't those and it triggers me.

I'm going to try and make a MEAT MAP for the weekend. I made a bunch of weird freakish meat props. I'll make it alot smaller since that's what people seem to want, like 180x180? or even smaller? idk i just make the maps
>>
>>12583217
180x180 should be big enough, enough for that one anon who builds absolutely fuckhuge coasters to have enough space to do as he pleases.
As long as the map has fun meat terrain it'll encourage people to pretty up the meat foliage and meat flowers.

If you make terrain, there's a setting in the .json file called smoothwithself and smoothwithothers that causes the terrain to gain these pixels on the edge for a smoothing effect. I have no idea how to change the colours on the effect, there's nothing in the file or sprites i can see to fix it. Anyway, this was my blog. Here's a white terrain i made for diagnostic purposes and a sprite i call pimple with worms. The current terrain is turning out banging imo

MEATLAND APPEAR

Here's the meat map i've been working on. I had to tone it down a little because i thought all the red would give you a headache, in retrospect some of the terrain textures i made are quite noisy so i don't know how they'll hold up in play, credit to Chris Sawyer i suppose because the vanilla stuff looks great. There's 5 terrain textures, a cliff texture, a custom palette and maybe a dozen custom sprites. Hopefully they're included in the file, tell me if it has problems

i just downloaded every custom track design from rctgo for pretty much no reason
nobody asked for this and i don't normally post itt i just like looking at designs
some of these are cool most are shit might vet them out and repack it in the future but don't count on it

https://mega.nz/file/5FU0VQCQ#-GljdkI-_J2KbDS7lNbfXDhavZpa1Y9NkSkzv86kMqs

about 3 links gave an internal error
one was crudely packed written in such how is babby form broken english i just deleted it
removed 8 dupes
83 files have (1) or (2) suffixes but i don't think they're really dupes just name hiveminds
deleted all readmes, screenshot files, and subdirs
2 downloads failed and i don't know which
1 came with a custom.wav file and it's not included because i don't care
around 6 object files gave me overwrite prompts when i dragged them in so i deleted those
>>
^ this the same as above but without the scenarios users included with them, just track designs (300mb -> 3mb)

Pretty much. I used Mtree for the tree's but the rest i just made myself. I used Blender for the models and there's a program called Object Creator by Tolsimir that you can use to package the .parkobj files which makes the packaging the small objects super easy. Since the objects are so small you can be real slack with everything and it kind of works out
