Does this little bugger have any games of interest?
The Klonoa game is nice
I beat Wizardry 1 on it. It has some cool optional DLC maps which are exclusive.
>>12583696How do they work, can you play just the DLC on its own or is it part the whole game?
yeah but they're all in moonrunes
This one I think is kinda shit tbdesu but some people like it
>>12584047It's the only classic-style Mega Man game where Wily is not a boss or even an antagonist. That alone is a reason to like it.
>>12583679The digimon games are neat
>>12584045I’ve been looking into WS games recently and a surprising amount of them have full English scripts. Many of the Digimon games, for example, can be played through in English. I believe it was for the Asia market.
>>12583679I really like Dicing Knight.
>>12583679I hear tell that there are some pretty good Chocobo games on this.
>>12583679The WOnderswan Colour has Judgement SIlversword, which doesn't play anything like Radiant Silvergun but by God did they try to ape its branding.
>>12583679the mr driller port is very goodthe saga 1 remakeff1 on it doesn't have the easy difficulty of dawn of souls and it looks a lot betterthat's about it, basically just an rpg machine
>>12584117>mystery dungeon games>good
>>12584041They’re in a separate menu but you use your main party and you can bring back some powerful new weapons and items for the main dungeon. They’re sorted roughly by difficulty level, from easy to postgame difficulty.
>>12583679No.
>>12583679>Does this little bugger have any games of interest to a child too lazy to watch a youtube?Obviously not
>>12583679>https://vsrecommendedgames.miraheze.org/wiki/WonderSwan
>>12586535That one jew never finished the Swan Song series
>>12584047I like it. Some of the platforming is a bit challenging, especially in the bubble level. Not as nut-bustingly difficult as MMIII thoughPretty much everyone names the worthwhile not too Japanese-y Wonderswan games in this thread so far, so I'll summarizeGood games>Judgement Silversword>Klonoa>Makaimura>Dicing Knight.>Buffers EvolutionLeave or take:>Mega Man and Bass>Wizardry>Mega Man EXE WS (busted as fuck game but still kinda fun, easy enough to complete with translate app)>Mr Driller>Digimon Battle Spirit 1.5 (exclusive)>Digimon Anode/Cathode Tamer (English version is rare as fuck, and the gameplay is pretty mid... It's pretty much an idle game except for the most difficult dungeons)>Gundam UC -- can't personally vouch for>Run Dim=Sun -- nice graphics but short and simplistic shmup apparentlyJapanese games worth playing:>idk lol a lot tho
>>12587373Oh also Rainbow Islands is pretty good, even if monochrome-ness of the game ruins the color gimmick. I don't know how it compares to other versions since I've only ever played the WS one
>>12583679How about the 2nd best Final Fantasy game: FF4?
>>12583679I remember it was awesome playing through translated roms of Final Fantasy 1 and 2 before the GBA remakes released. They're basically the same games graphically and the GBA added end game content so there's really no point to play the Wonderswan versions now though.
>>12587396*Wonderswan Color
>>12584621That's not DLC, DLC stands for downloadable content.
>>12587373>Mega Man EXE WS (busted as fuck game but still kinda fun, easy enough to complete with translate app)It could have been good but it suffers from "intern's first action game" issues>>12587398>the ability to download New Maze and Shopping via Wonder GateIt's DLC. For the record even a Game Boy game had DLC, it just wasn't called DLC yet because the term was invented in the 7th gen.
>>12587425So did you download it?
>>12587429Yes, I downloaded the ROM.
>>12587434No the extra content.
>>12587442Yes the extra content was included on the ROM I downloaded
>>12587442>>12587429If you mean using Wonder Gate, the service was pulled long ago; and that's the same with 7th gen DLC which you'd never argue whether it's "real DLC" or not. Just admit you were wrong and assumed the Wonderswan couldn't have an online service instead of asking disingeneous questions, it's not a big deal.
>>12587452Exactly so it's no longer downloadable and thus not dlc.
>>12587456Would you prefer "The content formerly known as downloadable"?
>>12587456
>>12587459Yes.
>>12584089It was Hong Kong specifically.
>>12587525Hong Kong and S. Korea, actually. And it was only two made available in English:>Digimon Anode/Cathode Tamer>Digimon Ver. Wonderswan #1Or technically three if you wanna be anal about the difference between the Veedramon/non-Veedramon version of Anode/Cathode (HK got Veedramon; SK didn't)The 3 Battle Spirits games are all accessible for non-JP, but 2/3 of them are translated on GBA and they all kinda suck anyway
>>12583679When I checked the wonderswan+color library and curated it this was the result:Wonderswan:Chocobo no Fushigi na Dungeon for WonderSwanClock Tower for WonderSwanKlonoa - Moonlight MuseumMegaman & Bass - Challenger from the FutureNeon Genesis Evangelion - Angel Raising ProjectRainbow Islands - Putty's PartyWonderswan Color:Dicing KnightMega Man Battle Network WSSpirit World Tower Warrior Sa-GaWorking ChocoboThe top game is probably Dicing Knight
>>12583679There's a Golden Axe "port" but it's not that great. It's playable but the mechanics aren't the same. I could see it being neat to have a portable version when the WSC was current though.
