Holy shit a pre SoTn castlevania were you don't move like a constipated retard, if you could only run it would be perfect
no running indoors, didn't your mother ever teach you any manners young man?
Vampires run, Belmont's strut.
>>12585016Why would you need to run?Zoomers are insufferable
>>12585016>it's another Symphony of the Night zoombaby threadYawn.
>>12585016>if you could only run it would be perf-ACKT!
>>12585593>HAHA tattooAt first I thought it said HAND to remind him that that is indeed his hand, always a good thing to know.
>>12585016>baby game is not baby enough for THIS gamer
>>12585113>>12585593>>12586004>when you're so fat that a character running on a videogame offends you
>>12586129The appeal and challenge comes from the realistic and limited controls. If Simon/Trevor jumped around like Mario, you would just dodge all the enemies and never learn to use the whip.
>>12585593/thread
>>12585016It also needs the backflip and slide
>>12586129>>12585016You don't even understand what is wrong with your train of thought, so let me explain. The issue is that modern gaming is all safe and samey. Nobody takes risks, nobody makes things different. If it's a platformer, there is basically only one way to make the movement; which in short is "like Mario", and this got to the point that people tell themselves anything different is "bad design" and old games that did something different "hadn't figured it out yet".This is a terrible way to do and view things but it leaves no room for diversity and leads to making the same games over and over. Take a bunch of platformers and action platformers on NES, in fact let's sample some of the most famous ones>Castlevania>Contra>Mega Man>Journey to Silius>Ninja Gaiden>Shatterhand>Street Fighter 2010>hell even the Mario trilogyThe only thing they have in common is how different movement and physics are, which lead to vastly different play feels, all fun in their own ways. Hell, even Journey to Silius which is the most derivative one in my list, made a point of being its own thing by having its movement feel like a middle ground between Contra and Mega Man, so it's still unique while being unoriginal.Castlevania is like Ghost'n Goblins, it's all about slow but calculated and meticulous movement. Unlike what modern gaming is all about, we don't want to turn Castlevania in Mario because we already have Mario; and ihat's not "bad design", it's just diversity.tl;dr this is what people mean by this >>12585593
>>12587916This anon has watched egoraptor's sequelitis on castlevania
>>12587914And double jump
>>12587931I haven't and although I heard the name I don't know who that isUnlike (You) I haven't gotten my opinion from youtubers in over a decade, I've grown. Hopefully you will too. The first step is admittance. Next time you catch yourself pretending "I've had this opinion about this game since I was a kid!" as you're watching a video, remember this post, admit that it isn't true and you're being manipulated. You can do it!
>>12587949This anon is now pretending
>>12587916>Shatterhand>Contra>Mega ManI played these and the jumping and movement feels good and mariolike unlike castlevania
>>12585016I never like his red skin here. He looks like Kassler with Kraut. Anything else is well drawn.
>>12590041That kassler looks perfect.
>>12590051Yeah I choose a good one, but if you grew up to a german mum in the 90s youve got some sloppa.
>>12585105I'd say the Belmonts lumber or trudge along.
