bullshit that comes with discussions about remakes/ports. The original game was better, but the GBA one had some pretty neat ideas, even if they did my boy Bleu dirty. Both versions are fine, original is better, OP is a ragebaiting homosex.

Took a shit all over the art and music, and added a bunch of nonsensical gameplay changes that completely break the game and make gameplay irrelevant like adding more movement points to characters or being able to use a character twice a row.

It's the quintessentional shitty handheld port/remake, and I had completely forgotten about it so thanks for reminding me.

I'm sure handheld ports apologists love it because "more content" and "it plays faster" though. So remember, if you actually like video games, never fall for the handheld ports and remakes.

It brought back the original scenario writer (Masaki Wachi) to flesh out his story independent of the sequels he didn't work on, so it is interesting for that, his absence is the reason SF2 feels so unrelated to the plot of the first game. The additions you name are there to make the new game plus endless difficulty spikes doable. It's got some merits.

the right is cooler, but the real problem is that it makes her look like a real character that fits in to a jrpg. the left works better for her roles in the story, because she looks like a homely normie. she's not meant to keep up with the rest of the crew, she's meant to be outclassed and just "the girl back home".

Yep. Tia is supposed to look like a generic shop keeper NPC, that's like the whole point. It's a good visual way of showing just how outclassed she is by everyone else.
Remake just makes her look like generic "excitable girl party member 403" that you'd find in any JRPG released around that time frame.

Not to mention that obnoxious obsession with "fantasy hoodies" that JRPGs had, and Falcom continues to have.

Tia and Dekar hook up, and Tia is playable for the whole game and pretty fun to use. Character development in general is better in the remake. Iris accompanies you for the whole journey. It's absolutely worth checking out.

The only time the music is bad is for the 2 final battles. I don't know if that was a fuck up or if the GBA just couldn't do the proper notes, similar to the gba version of Bowsers Valley in Super Mario World.
