It is ridiculously fun. Pure FF gameplay, minimal story that doesn't take itself too seriously. Very cozy battle backgrounds, nice music with simulated funky baselines in the battle music.It's so good. Faris is one of the best FF chicks.

>>12589539No, DQ5 is overrated as all fuck, especially the original SFC release. A notable chunk of the monsters suck ass and have low level caps with stat ceilings that don't make up for it. Some are so fucking good you'll never want to replace them. Most of the "main" allies are kinda mid-to-shit (the humans and the sabercat, and the dwarf from the fairyland in PS2 onward if you want to consider him a character like I did). The only good ones are the MC (and mostly by virtue of good equipment since his spell selection is pretty much just the DQ3 priest), the son, and the daughter. No matter who you pick as a wife, she isn't "fully" playable until late in the 3rd time period, since she only hangs with your for a brief while during the 2nd. Deborah is probably the best one in DS since she's an actual fighter, even if her spells are rather mid. Bianca gets bullshit favortism by getting the liquid metal shield and the 3rd tier single-target fire spell, where as all Flora gets that is unique is Healmore and being kinky as fuck in party chat. Flora does also get the 3rd tier explosion spell, but so does the daughter from any wife, and in the original version, you're better off using her than either mom. The story is pretty neat the first time around but damn is it a slog during replays. Thank God it modernized Boomerangs and Whips (why the fuck didn't DQ4's remake do this) because most of your equipment and spell selection before you get some some good monsters is pretty garbo, with very little gear that has secondary usage or notable resistances. I think the PS2 and DS versions are better, but they're still rather lacking compared to what came after, and even what came before, since they while they solve some problems with the original, there's others they just left as is, notably monster imbalance (at least let the weak ones get better caps), lacking skill selections, and not a lot of interesting gear available early on.People shit on 6, but I'd rather replay that.

So, it is apparently possible to beat this game without opening the menu, spending money, or running from any battle, meaning no job selection, no equipping anything outside battle, no buying rods or weapons, no resting at inns or save points, and no saving, period.

Even then, you still couldn't get me to use either Bianca nor Flora, not even in the remakes when you have 4 active slots instead of just 3 which is just a baffling as fuck decision regarding the original SFC release.

The runs themselves might be kinda interesting but his commentary gets kinda stale since so much of it is buried under him just stringing together cuss words and foul language over and over. Imagine early AVGN only the curses are jacked up by like 5 times and the commentary isn't as interesting.
I remember getting stuck on the final dungeon and never beating the game. The random encounters were too brutal and I managed to escape my way to Exdeath once but didn't beat him and just gave up there.Part of me wants to buy an adapter to transfer PS1 saves to PC so I can look at my save and/or ask for help like that one dude playing FF6 long ago who was stuck and shared his save.
