First game is a fast paced arcade style hack n slash/run n gun hybrid with some light platforming. Levels were a bit too copy and pasted and the late middle of the game dragged a bit, but I'd say it's a really fun 7/10 game.I don't even know what the fuck happened with BloodRayne2. It feels like it was made by an entirely different dev team, but I looked it up and it's the same people. Slow, boring, incredibly clunky linear gameplay and Rayne feels completely underpowered. Guns are worthless, blades do no damage, camera is awful, and Rayne went from jumping 15 feet in the air while running and flipping everywhere to the agility of a generic human. The level design went from a semi open design where Rayne could do a bunch of movement in the first game to corridors where you're constantly flooded with enemies until you throw X amount of them into something to progress. They weren't even trend chasing with it, because it plays nothing like other popular contemporary games. They for some reason spent 3 years making a sequel worse in every single possible way than the first.

But you have to play it without wanting it to be a direct gameplay follow up to BR1. Sadly it's trying to define itself as something different and it just doesn't really work too well.
