How did Andross become a giant brain?
>>12591664He was very smart.
>>12591664I'm not sure how to tell you this OP, but you yourself are just a giant brain
By thinking really hard.
>>12591664He specialized in bioweapons. Only he has the brains to understand how he turned himself into a giant brain.
>>12591664ohh HELL NAHH.. he ignant!!
>>12591664>Andross is a giant fag>fags suck men's dicks>sucking dick is referred to in slang as giving brainNintendo would never make a game like this today.
>>12591719You make me leak brain, with the knowledge you exuberate
>>12591664>>12591664Daaaavid, why did I send my mum to Atlanta? Daavid talk to meeeeee!!
>>12591664>How did Andross become a giant brain? It happened when Fox McCloud blew his face off with an Arwing.
>>12591664At some point Andross went from a normal size monkey to a 50m wide brain. Wetware supercomputer. Makes you wonder if he has some of his original body somehwere in that neural mass.At some point he needed to supplement and replace his cardiovascular system to support those brains. We're missing his transitional megamind stage, fishbowl head and then he becomes sedentary.
>>12591784>trying to medal>surely 300 score is enough >win level>needed more scoreLiterally the second shortest level in the game, only starwolf 4v4 are shorter.
>>12591664He worked out at the library
>>12591664I like the explanation from the original SNES continuity that the whole giant head/spinning cube arrangement was just a psionic supercomputer he was using to give himself the ability to summon the pillars and obstacles on Venom's surface and then to fight Fox. The Nintendo Power comic went into further detail, even putting out a whole post-game story arc where Andross shows his face and tries again and still doesn't definitively die, then Star Fox 2 also went on to utilize the giant head/spinning cube fight, implying he used a control computer for a second time and still wasn't dead.If they're too lazy to come up with any new villains or story scenarios besides repeating Lylat Wars, to me it would be preferable for the games to just establish Andross keeps getting away like Dr. Robotnik or Wily or w/e. I think it's better to have a pretense of suspense, like "Oh, we might get him for real this time," rather than establishing that even if you do kill him he could just come back through unexplained Palpatine bullshit. Or rebooting the series over and over, of course.
>>12591784GO FOR THE FOUR HATCHES ON THE UNDERSIDE
>>12591664Consider the possibility that it's a ruse, and the brain is a bio weapon made in the image of Andross, and not Andross himself.Maybe the Andross you're talking to is the real deal, or a posthumous AI consciousness that continued his work.Unfortunately the later games like Adventures made it clear that Andross really did turn himself into a giant floating head with hands, and died for good.
>>12592348>If they're too lazy to come up with any new villains or story scenarios besides repeating Lylat WarsI really wish they'd do something new. Or at least make new levels. The new game as far as I know is literally just Star Fox 64 with new graphics/audio and cutscenes. How hard is it to make a new rail shooter with some interesting branching paths and a plot about some new space threat?
>>12592348Huh?I remember the Nintendo Power comic depicting it as the "Telekinetic Amplifier", but they at least strongly implied Andross was piloting/controlling it, not that it was an outright decoy like the fake Andross in 64.And the Smash games seem to think it's Andross too, so...?
>>12592396Naw, it was a remote-controlled battle puppet thing, he escaped Venom no worse for wear. I was actually wrong, he did die for real in the follow-up arc, but at that point he had measures in place to have his minion clone him from a hair sample. So I guess if you take the comic as canon to the OG games, Andross in SF2 is actually a clone.
>>12592449>Naw, it was a remote-controlled battle puppet thing,Okay, but..what's the source on that? The game's not clear on this (except he has a cybernetic scar in SF2) and in the comic he's in a control area barking orders to his android.>I guess if you take the comic as canon to the OG games,Eh sorta, but it was definitely doing its own thing at the same time, like having Ridley retreat from Zebes in the Super Metroid comic. I'd just take the info that doesn't contradict the games' telling.(Kinda sick the team were making flat puns after that happened lol.)
>>12592458Here, I stitched 'em together. I guess there's not any way for me to definitively prove he didn't die, but that's my interpretation of events, given that they don't draw any attention to it or provide any kind of explanation for how he comes back, unlike when he straight-up gets crushed to death on-panel and there are subsequently several pages showing the process of him being cloned. To me it just reads like he's saying "You didn't kill me, dumbass."
>>12591664he monke
>>12591664How come Fox went alone? How come the only thing inside the base feels like a massive projection in a nebulous space?Venom probably has tons of these silos acting as decoys. Fox was lured in via psychic suggestion, "defeats" Andross, and then is locked inside while the whole base explodes. But one thing he didn't account for was the lingering effect of psychic damage allowing Fox to conjure an image of his father, an image that helps him remember the path out of the base in an incredibly heated situation. It boiled down to Fox reminding himself to be calm, trust your instincts, don't panic and just fly out smoothly. But, the real Andross has to be out there. No way was he literally a giant brain in a dumb prison of a base.
>>12592735>How come fox went aloneBecause his teammates are fucking useless.
>>12592735>How come Fox went alone?Because that's what heroes do.
>>12592735>How come Fox went alone? How come the only thing inside the base feels like a massive projection in a nebulous space?Honestly probably a holdover from the SNES game which had a similar structure for Andross in Venom (SF64 was more of a direct remake earlier in development). The base is supposed to be Andross' main control unit in the SNES game. Makes a little less sense in the 64 game, maybe floating-ape-head Andross can't exist outside the chamber?
funniest thing I ever saw
If Andross is a massive brain / supergenius why did he not have the intelligence to beat Fox?check mate
>>12593509He only had the brains to rule Lylat, so there was no room left for winning strategies against Fox.
Body horror in shooters is one of the best tropes and it's not done frequently enough.I reccommend checking out X-Multiply
>be 7 years old>go visit a family friend>their son is like 10 or something>much smarter and more sophisticated than me >tells me that Andross is a male and Android is a female >gives me this elaborate story about how their tumultous relationship is what caused all the war in Starfox >mfw
