What's the best way to play Phantasy Star in the year of our lord 2026?
>>12591926Probably Sega Ages port*
>>12591926skip it, it's a slog
>>12592006Are you saying it Aged Poorly?
>>12591926>>12591991FPBP>>12592006The Sega Ages port speeds things up and auto-draws a map for you, so it's not a slog.Well, aside from the start, you absolutely have to grind for a while at the beginning.
>>12592013Yeah it's some RPG maker tier sloppa
>>12592006spbp
>>12591991this or emulation. i still have my original US cart so I'm nostalgic for the shittier music, but with emulation you can enable the Japanese FM synth music which some people prefer>>12592006>>12592097>t. doesn't even like dungeon crawlers
>>12591926I think emulation would be the best. Fast forwarding and savestates will mitigate the excessive grind and literal pitfalls you will encounter through your play. Give it a chance as you too might find it to be a surprisingly good 8-bit JRPG as I did.
What’s with these frog slop threads?
>>12591926Genesis port: If you want to play the best version of the original experience, it's just a port of the master system game but with improvements you'd expect on genesis, like it's faster, QOL features etc.PS2 Sega Ages: If you want the best version of the game it's this one. It's a remake that actually updatess the sprites with some decent ones, you get tons of QOL, cutscenes, better translation, more details on the story. It's a shame the other phantasy star games didn't get this treatment.
>>12594448^ignore this faggot.
>>12592016>The Sega Ages port speeds things up and auto-draws a map for youCrazy they released an official game that you literally can't beat.
