It's overhated.
Actually you're right. It's not shit, just low tier.
Zniggy 64 2
>>12595521yes more basedboy niggers need to come out and identify themselves through open hate of the GOAT
>>12595531i mean no
I played and loved the original as a kid, went back to it a 10 years ago, still loved it, went back to it 2 years ago, still loved it. Finally tried Tooie last year for the first time, knowing pretty much nothing about it, and fell off it within 2 hours. Is it worth sticking with? My issue was that the new layout didn't really seem to promote exploration in the same way the original did.
>>12595521It's not hated enough. It's dk64 tier bloat
Half of this game's negative reputation comes from legitimate issues the game has. Mostly small, trivial ones. But there's quite a few and they do add up, leaving an unfortunate acerbic tinge to the overall experience. The other half of Tooie's negative rep comes from fucking WHINERS and impatient buffoons. People who unironically believe "this game is difficult..." is the same thing as "this game is bad". People with no patience, or who have a skill issue but can't fucking admit it / have no interest in learning & growing, so they just externalize their own inadequacies by blaming the game. Tooie is kind of sequel that says>Okay, you've played the first easy game, now we trust you to have developed the skills to be intelligent, curious & capable enough to handle a REAL adventure!...and Banjo-Tooie's biggest mistake was this assumption that its own playerbase was up to that task. That everybody would be both capable & excited for such a challenge. It ASSUMED most players were smart: big mistake. I've said it before and I will again: They should have printed "You need an IQ of at least 110 to play this game" on the front of the box.
>>12595521>20 fps>90 jiggies>no stop n swap>crossworld jiggies make getting 100% a choreI can't even imagine trying to map out a 100% route in bt.bk1 felt like a fun journey and you can easily 100% in 1 sitting.
>>12596498BT is like if every level was Click Clock Wood. Everything is too complicated and has too many loading zones and transitions, you end up forgetting what you were even doing.
>>12596394I beat it when I was six
>>125955213d Metroidvania kino
collectathon cringefuck that shit
>>12596520Yeah, that's an issue. The levels are cut into so many discrete pieces that it can be hard to remember how they all connect, as opposed to BK where most in most levels you can just stop, have a look around, and immediately see a number of landmarks to orient yourself by. Maybe they could have done something with the loading areas to make it more obvious which ones go where. Gruntyland did it by virtue of each area having a different theme, obviously the loading zone in the desert area will take you to the desert themed room; for the other worlds you might have to get a bit more creative.
>>12596695You skipped a lot of jiggies
>>12595521I beat it as a small child
>>12598409Why is a.i posting here?
>>12599789Anon, I think you might just be dumb. Also, it’s just AI. You don’t have to add periods.
>>12598409>GruntylandI meant Witchyworld. Also, I'll say that the bigger, more disjointed nature of the world has some positives. Playing it as a kid, everything felt way more mysterious than BK since it didn't lay its worlds bare to you like that game did. Only Gruntey's Lair had some of that feeling in the original.
>>12595521It has a widescreen option
>>12595521I liked it, it's fun if you're a kid with practically infinite free time to just aimlessly explore the world and get jiggies at your own pace. Completionists probably hate it for being a "slog" but as a kid it was one of those games where there was always something new to see every time you picked it up and played it.
>>12600242Even as a kid I felt that it was not as good as BK. I got both games on release, BK at 9yo and BT at 12 yo. Maybe my tastes changed as I grew up. The thing that most bugged me, even back then, was backtracking. The other things were: boring gameplay as split up Banjo and Kazooie (specially solo Banjo) and the uncreative new moves that they added. I still think its a good game, just not as good as BK.
