Chrono Trigger just hits me in the feels the certain way. I won't pretend that it's perfect. It's relatively short, not very challenging, doesn't have interesting mechanics, the story is rather simple. But the whole presentation of this game, from the world, to characters to the music is just so bittersweet. It's like a dream that you awake from and get depressed because it's not real.
What makes snesbabies so pretentious and retarded, is it because they are millennials?
>>12595718I grew up with a Genesis though, only played CT on an emulator
>>12595718CT is one of the best 16-bit jrpgs
>>12595713I haven't found a 90s jrpg that does anything better than chrono trigger. It's as good as it got.
>>12595713>>12595718>>12595728>>12595734>>12595804I have no nostalgia for Chrono Trigger cause as a kid I only really played platformers on the SNES. I got it on the Wii virtual console in my 20s and like 15 years later it's still my favorite RPG of all time. I think it's a combination of the god tier pacing, presentation, and music. There's never a dull moment. Can't think of any JRPGs that scratch that itch the same way.
>>12595713I think it's aged a lot better than most of the PS1 JRPGs I've played, but playing this in 1995 was mind-blowing because it did so many things that were completely new for the time. Even the time travel premise hadn't really been done before.
>>12595718I fucking hate millennials. >t. 94
>>12595883I hate all normies, I don't discriminate by age
>>12595883I hate millennial too, and I am a millennial. They are the generation of onions
>>12596187>I am a millennial.>They are the generation of onions*You are the gen on onions
>>12595867I was gonna say EarthBound did it but that released the same year. Funny, that.
>>12595713Yeah I think their experience making jrpgs before helped them a lot to come up with a very solid package. Its still one of the best gateway jrpgs to this day, and not at all said in a way that implies its worse for that
>>12596824Good, the PlayStation port sucks
>>12596824if you're old enough to post here, you're too old for it. Listen to the ost and skip the game
>>12595718I hate tendies and Nintendo games. I play the ps1 port of CT and to this day is one of my fav games.
>>12596824>someone else wants to sell itIt's short and sweet. What is it, 15-20 hours?
>>12597116Who cares if that faggot misses out on a good game?
It's the most 9/10 game I've ever played. Maybe a technical masterpiece but frankly I've had more enjoyment of many much more flawed games
>>12597173No one, I just think the brevity is a good selling point.
>>12596824stick to the call of duty games otherwise someone out there might mistake you for a fag
>>12595713You don't have to fucking apologize for liking things. You don't have to fucking couch your preferences in "w-well i know the game has flaws, p-please don't bully me"zoomers all belong in a meat grinder feet first. you don't have to fucking live your life according to their hateful incel retard demands just fucking say you like the game and it's fucking great.
I love how it's always fags that don't even like videogames praising this turd >Oh thank God it's short I couldn't imagine playing more of this shit!A good game is 100 hours long and you love for it
>>12596824>has had a copy of chrono trigger for 25 years just sitting there>still hasnt played itwhy are you even on this board
>>12597080>first played ct, ffiv, v and vi on ps1>in addition to the mountain of jrpg classics ps1 already hadwe didnt know how good we had it>muh loading timesthank god Im not so brainrotted and retarded that a few seconds of loading time at most bothers me
I hope you're mostly bots because the bulk of this thread is extremely bad and if you are human then it ought to be far, far beneath you.
>>12597585>loading...>left to my thoughts>existential dread sets inBad game design
>>12597778>black loading screen>see my reflection>all enjoyment ruined
>>12595713It benefits a lot from being shorter. The average jrpg is too bloated. Otherwise it's just a fun plot with good characters. It's nothing magical or that hadn't been done before.
>>12596353Earthbound features time travel as a single plot point at the very end. It's not at all analogous to the way Trigger uses time travel, and I don't know why you'd think it would be interesting to point out.
>>12595713>shortPhantasy Star 4 is shorter. Lunar and Lunar 2 are roughly the same length as Chrono Trigger. It's SNES Final Fantasy games that are bloated.
