I hate this game. Moving is slow, fighting is slow, menus are slow, I don't know where to go, there is no map, no quest logs, I get killed easily, combat is baiting, step back, swing, repeat. I hate this game, I hate it I hate it.

Also I find it odd that you're summing Souls up as 'rolling' or that you think you can't be a fan of multiple genres anyways. At least that's why I always liked them. I'd rate The Ancient City higher but I always felt like it was slow to an unbearable degree despite not feeling the same about the others. This always surprised me cause it's the fourth one. I would figure it would be the smoothest. Personally I love Kings Field but I cannot stand shadow tower, Kings Field is fine but Shadow Tower is everything you described turned to absolute maximum. At least Kings Field (KF2 Jp) has a great map with interesting shortcuts and secrets. KF2 and Shadow Tower have really shit level design and its not worth the struggle.

>>12600089i dont remember ever needing to use the map. The game has like 3 or 4 floors and the goal is just to get lower and lower until the dragon boss with the moonlight sword behind him. Its the most simple KF to navigate. Its nowhere near as confusing as Shadow Tower, even KF4 is more mazelike and thats a linear game.
