A thread to discuss games based on works by Macaulay Culkin.
Starting with the classic Home Alone, the original, on NES.
Was it as bad as people pretend? I feel the HA2 games were worse, this one was oddly comfy. Like a doll house proto-Tecmo's Deception
>>
culkin did you make this thread about yourself?

i played the board game somewhere. then i think later on i rented the nes game, confused in my head thinking it was like the board game and being very disappointed. i also rented the snes game once. it had kind of a spooky vibe because of the music. never really got anywhere in it.

I don't know if he regards any of this old stuff all that highly himself, at least with these tie-in products.
I recall he said something about how every now and then, he'd get a check in the mail valued at something like a fraction of a single U.S cent, for some old thing he did or lent his likeness to like 30+ years ago, and often things he even forgot completely about.
So I imagine that the stuff which weren't movies didn't mean that much to him.

He made an episode with AVGN about it

Royalties contracts that I've seen usually have clauses like
>don't bother sending anything until it reaches a minimum of XX $

so those checks probably at least paid some groceries; although for him it probably means the equivalent of nothing

Also, he should feel good about people sending him royalties checks without him having to beg for them, especially in the case of shit he forgot even existed. Being a star probably helps, more fear of lawsuits from the owers.

Maybe those contracts predate that, or maybe his dad negotiated things weirdly.

I think a Home Alone with Aliens would be excellent. Or at least a Home Alone so skinned and so rewritten that it turns into its own game as a marine that needs to defend his bunker and run away from xenos rather than shooting them. It would be Alien Isolation but done properly.
