This is just plain old market manipulation to drive up prices.Looking at Pricecharting, the price for the PAL versions has stayed consistent over the last decade at under 15 bucks, while the Japanese version has gone from 15 bucks to 30 bucks due to some recent high value sales but there's no actual price trend upwards in general.Meanwhile the US version went for 15 bucks loose as recently as 2020, while it's now regularly selling for over 60 bucks.
