Matsuno also wrote a much better "magical shenanigans" story in Vagrant Story. FFT is a poor mix of both - Ramza's storyline permanently tanks right after Chapter 2's ending (Lucavi are the dumbest villains Matsuno wrote, they do dumbest decisions to achieve their goals and Matsuno has to deus ex machina everything for them to actually achieve their goal) and Delita's storyline is okay ("you turn into the thing you hate the most" plus crazy siscon projection) but it only works because Dycedarg is a greedy retard who fucked up EVERYTHING for White Lion's side to lose in every way.>FFTA bratty cripple gets mad at world and throws a tantrum that fucks over everyone including his own brotherAt least FFTA sticks to its "escapism is not healthy" idea from start to finish.
