The best old japanese computer for gaming. What are your favorite X68000 games? Mine are
>valis ii
>akumajo dracula (castlevania remake)
>atomic runner chelnov
>arcus odyssey
>cotton

Never had one and I have zero plans to ever own any of these Japanese microcomputers. I do watch the basement brothers videos about them and I think the versions of games released for them are pretty neat.

Why not emulate? X68K has it's exclusives that are worth playing.

Atoile Princess is great fun
>>
>>12601161
I'm not against emulation but the vast majority of these games already have excellent console or even dos/win ports. I can only handle so many versions of sokoban in one lifetime as it stands.

>valis ii
Larping fag. No one who's actually played this would pretend to like it.

Like most of my favorite systems, Capcom and Konami games.

There's a video compilation on Youtube which is named like "every X68000 game" and it has made me realize that there is very few actually good games on the system. I unironically prefer PC98 and FM Towns libraries.

Cotton X68 was designed with square pixels in mind.

none

PC98 is legendary. FM Towns seem to have lots of good ports of Sega games and western games, but they were never translated.

How could i forget to mention Cho Ren Sha?
>>12601173
It is, although all the roms out there are buggy.
>>12601253
I know the physics are jank but i'm a big fan of the valis series and i kinda had fun with it, the game had a lot of cool ideas i think de X68K is still better than the PCE, PC88 versions and Valis SD. I finished thrice and basically i know all the routes.
>>12601426
Plus FM towns emulation is terrible and there aren't as many original games as there are on the X68K; there are mostly ports.

It has a some great games but not many desu. Disregard entries at the bottom, I pile all retro PC games into 1 playlist.

>akazukin chacha
I played is a cotton clone but i hate the level design
>metalorange
I like the artwork but the game itself is mid, sometimes sounds like the game is an excuse for the cool art, since it's just arcanoid/breakout but a little bit different and more buggy, honestly if i want to play a game like that i will play touhou HRtP.

try hooking up Nuked-SC55
>>
>>12601868
Not that anon but even though Metal Orange was designed for SC55, I found that it sounds even better using Yamaha S-YXG50 emulation. I know it shouldn't be that way but I dunno, can't go back to SC55 for that game. I like the game btw, simple but very playable.

You have a little bit of everything don't you?
