Shitty handheld port of console games made years after the originals.
Especially true when it comes to RPGs but it applies to any kind of game really.

What's wrong with playing FF1 and 2 on GBA? JRPGs are so mechanically simple that they're better off on handhelds anyway.

It figures that you have no idea what the software does that you're using.

Like, ok, I get it. They used a color screen in their new VMU device because it would have been more expensive and harder to source a black and white LCD screen, especially of the right size and aspect ratio, and you can just use a color screen to display black and white images anyway. I also get that the cheapest decent microcontroller they could put in this thing was still massive overkill for just emulating a VMU and had more than enough power left over. So I get why they decided just for the hell of it to toss in an MP3 player and some emulators for 8 bit systems like the NES, SMS, and Gameboy, especially since they likely just licensed some open source emulators and I highly doubt they made all of these from scratch... but despite all that, I still can't imagine anyone actually seriously playing any emulated games on this thing outside of maybe for 5 minutes as a novelty then never using the emulator feature again. I can't imagine a worse way to play emulated 8 bit games outside of methods where you are intentionally going out of your way to try to design the most convoluted and worst way possible as a joke.

I still want it as a VMU mind you, but the emulator feature feels so laughably worthless.
