You're focusing too much on the vertical resolution. The much higher horizontal res makes a considerable difference
>GB/C: 160 × 144 = 23 040
>GBA: 240 x 160 = 38 400
>23 040 / 38 400 = 0.6
The GB/C's res is only 60% of the GBA's
