>Whuh dragoon?Dragoon Might is a 2D fighting game from the mid-90s by Konami. It has SFII's six-button layout, fast walkspeeds and emphasis on links, but is weapons-based like SamSho. From KOF, it borrows a 3v3 mode. It features twelve playable characters, all of whom are strong and quite distinct from one another. Everyone is viable, except for one character who was made bad on purpose. The game features excellent spritework and music, and has very recently been made playable with rollback netcode. Also has an extremely hard boss.>What's so special about it?Super moves called Bombers which cost health. These vary per character and all tend to be useful, whether they be anti-airs, punish tools or moves for getting in. Using Bombers more means less effective health, and some Bombers are better than others. In addition, there are Super Bombers available when one is low on health. Bombers are performed by pressing two punch buttons, but Super Bomber inputs vary per character. The other main gimmick is hang points, which most stages have. Pressing two kicks makes your character leap to the nearest one available, then they can swing off in any direction. Hang points can be destroyed with weapon attacks.>What's different about 3v3?Everyone moves faster and deals more damage. There is also a super meter which, when filled, allows you to use Bombers and Super Bombers freely until it runs out. These will not cost health, and you also won't need to be at low health to use Super Bombers.
>How do I play online? You will need the latest version of Arkadyzja. You will also need dragoona zip (split set) and konamigx zip (bios/device). Most Arkadyzja users get their MAME roms from mdk cab.Log into Arkadyzja, open the Retrobuda tab under Create session and open the Roms folder, then drop the game files in. Then find Dragoon Might (ver AAB) in the list and select Test game. The emulator will download a save state and a few other things, and then the game should run. Hit F4 to set controls, then F4 again to exit out and save them. Y = LP, X = MP, LB = HP, B = LK, A = MK, RB = HKTo host an online session, click Create session, set your delay (Automatic should do) and hit Create. To join or spectate an active session, go into the Waiting list, find it, click the Join or Spectate icon then set your delay. If the game crashes immediately, either you are on a different version of Arkadyzja or you have different roms. Worth noting, you can set your buttons during online games. For a visual guide, this video was made for Tekken Tag 1, but it goes for other MAME games on the platform: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_pGj-tnkJM>What are the inputs? This is the most comprehensive movelist I have found: https://www.spmoves.com/sp8/konami_/dgnmight.htmlGameFAQs has movelists with everything in English, as well as system guides, but neither of them list Reggie's followup after Gut Kick.>Is there a training mode?Sadly, no. You'll have to use MAME cheats.>Where can I find footage of the game?Game Center Mikado has hosted tournaments for it on occasion. You will see a lot of character variety and what makes everybody strong. Footage for the game is otherwise scarce. If anyone has any further questions, feel free to ask.
>>12604878I'm convinced Daisuke played this and was inspired/stole moves from it for GG. Jaoh has Sol's ground viper and Drake has Sin's staff rain.
>>12604880It isn't on Fightcade? Or even FBNeo?
>>12605203Unfortunately no, FBNeo doesn't support the Konami GX board. MAME is the only thing which emulates Dragoon Might, and even then it's not perfect. Some stages have an additive layer which creates a light effect, but this isn't captured in the emulation.Retrobuda has quite a few exclusives, like Fighting Layer, Buriki One, Groove on Fight and Astra Superstars. Regrettably, Arkadyzja doesn't have individual rooms for each game, so it's not like FightCade where you might find randoms idling for any given game. Still, it's worth a look.
nice blog faggot. I'm not reading all this shit
Oh boy I've seen this style of grifting before
>>12605358Hopefully Fightcade will support all those games by 2040.
>>12604878That Zack character looks like he has limitless potential.

>>12608018>Drakei can't belive it's not Goose Howard!
>>12608018There isn't a single good cab at Mikado man, if it's played there just assume it's dogshit
>>12608046Counterpoint: nobody on 4chan who says "dogshit" has good taste in anything
>>12608018That's some chip damage.
>>12608648That's what he does. Drake has a quirk where his heavy kicks don't push him back on block, and neither will any specials he cancels them into. The only problem is the far ones are very slow, and the close one is very throwable, so it requires setups.Drake's whole strategy is to get his opponent to the corner with his hit confirms, then chip them to death, both of which he's very good at. However, it all seems to balance out with his bad mobility and his pokes having blind spots, on top of how useless he is without his weapon. In general, even the strong characters have clear-cut weaknesses, which is why I think the game gets away with having busted shit.
