I tried getting into this thinking I still had one big N64 masterpiece to play but the controls are absolutely fucking horrible. I ended up dropping the game.To the game's credit it's probably better on a genuine N64 controller but even then every other 3D action game on the platform has better controls, even the supposed "bad controls" memed games like Castlevania (which aren't bad at all)
>>12607302Mischief Makers is also torture on modern controllers unless you map face buttons to be the c buttons and use L and R as A and BAnalog Stick does not work as you need to mash at times and mash down on a stick over and over feels and responds like shit
>>12606865The world you grew up in no longer exists.
>>12607302The protip for Jet Force Gemini is changing the control options to "Expert", which lets you move on all 8 directions while on aiming mode. And yeah the game just plays best on a real N64 controller
>>12607330we're not the same person we were 4 minutes ago, bros..
>>12606865>mom is yelling at you>doesn't upset you or ruin your nice eveningFake
>>12606865>It's 1999OH N-
>>12607302I've been saying this. We need a recomp with mkb controls.
>>12610065You can do that yourself, it doesn't fix the problem of the button layout which just doesn't transfer well to anything but the N64 controller. The way you press shit is just too different to other games and is tasking when trying to do it with anything other than the OG controller
>>12610065On the one hand it'd be nice to see this game get a recomp just so more people play it, on the other hand adding MKB or even modern dual analog controls would break the game worse than note saving in Banjo. Maybe it's better that only real ones know about this.
>>12610075Don't think you can without a mousehook tool and creating that is a pain for this game.
>>12609593Kek, this.
>>12610121Many emulators can do it natively pain-free but N64 emulators are way behind for some reason so mouse 2 joystick or other similar software is the way to go. With Dolphin it takes seconds to set up anything and everything you can think of.
