Does the remake have anyone else replaying this to brush up on their skills? I didn't remember it being so difficult, I must be rusty.
Picked up an old save I had on the 3DS version and beat Andross the other day.No complete ending though. It's definitely a challenging game but it's well designed so if you want to get good you can.Getting the true ending is doable but I get filtered by getting medals/scoring
>>12608572>3DS versionNot retro and didn't beat the game.
>>12608579I also have the original in its big box and have gotten the true ending on it before
>>12608583Playing the non-retro version invalidates any previous achievements. You shouldn't have outed youself as a cocksucking casual.
Yeah I've been playing it over the last week.I'm trying the hard route, I get to venom without losing a life or teammate and lose all 10 lives I have saved up in the opening battle. The venom on the hard path s different (Venom II) and that dogfight at the beginning just recks me. It's like I need to rebind my controller just for that level because you have to do a loop when an enemy is behind you, or you will die. L2/R2 and Right Stick Down is an awkward combo on an xbawx cuntroller. I gotta git gud.Picrel, random screenshot from last night.
>>12608143Finishing it is okay, even Hard Mode.Picking the medals in every stage, on the other hand...it's prety hard.Specially at the hardest difficulty.
>>12608143It’s hardThis plus F Zero are the biggest raw skill Nintendo series
>>12608586The correct way to bind SF64 controls to a modern 4-face-button controller is pic related.
>>12608746but what you do with the right analog??
>>12608762You don't. Why would you? Up C doesn't need to be bound because it's only used to switch to the inferior cockpit view, and Right C can be bound to whatever empty button you find most convenient to press to answer Great Fox messages. The main point is that you should have the boost (Left C) and brake (Down C) buttons on the face buttons because that's most accurate to the N64 controller setup (pic related) and keeps you from having to futz around with the right analog stick when you need immediate and precise maneuvers.
>>12608746You didn't beat the game
>>12608783All the Expert medals I earned on N64 25+ years ago disagree, but okay.
I beat it as a small child
>>12608798Proof with handcam or it didn't happen you lying faggot.
i remember stumbling across the real ending path and going insane trying to stay alive and seeing foxs dad and shitit was maybe the most edge of my seat moment in gamingnever touched the game after that, that experience was too traumatic
>>12608572For all your talk, you uncs really suck at video games. I booted up the game for the first time in my life couple of months ago and did expert all medals in like a week.
The only hard medal is Venom 1’s which nobody does because getting Venom 2’s gets you Venom 1’s as well
>>12609032>getting Venom 2’s gets you Venom 1’s as wellSeriously? I never realized that.
>>12608586why is venom stinky
>>12609004Used save states?
>>12609201Nope. Recomp doesn't have save states.
>>12609032The actual challenge is keeping your nigger teammates alive. I gave up on trying to do paths in one go and would have to do break them up while killing the teammates early so they would respawn with full health when I need them. But to my surprise I found out that if they die on Sector Z they don't respawn on Venom because Venom starts immediately after Area 6. I still have no idea if this was intentional or an oversight by the devs.
>>12609430Does it give you more FOV?
>>12609884You can enable widescreen, but I don't like seeing unintended junk on the edges of the screen. I turned on higher framerate, that's a nice feature.
>>12609784It's probably intentional. Star Fox SNES did this kind of thing, too, where the last couple levels are all strung together with no in-between.
>>12609901>. I turned on higher frameratedidn't beat the game
