What does /vr/ think of the Tengai Makyou series, one of the biggest RPG franchises of the 16bit era to never make it to the west?
give me a fan translation or fuck off
I think it's based>>12610892>EOPYikes
I played the only game in the series that came to the west: Kabuki Klash, a fighting game spinoff. Surprisingly great for being a spinoff! Gameplay is snappy and satisfying and the roster is wild, not sure about each character's stories though.I will eventually play through the series starting with the original one on PC Engine.
Only played ziria (it's jiraya, i don't know why ziria) i think it was mid, i heard zero is good and manjimaru had kind of a good popularity.
>>12610979>English-only peasantHow do you know he doesn't also speak French or German?
zero has a fan translation. do I need to play other games in the series to understand it though?
>>12610892Zero has a fan translation.
I keep seeing the Team Rocket every time I see the thumbnail on the catalog
The only one I've played was the one on PC-FX. An FMV fighting game seemed really interesting.
>>12610663They're not great to be honest.
4th Apocalypse is neat.
This is the 3rd or 4th time we've had this thread
Tengay Fagyou is for losers
Jiraiya is good (actually mindblowing for the year it was made) but it drip feeds you abilities and party members at such a slow rate that it feels like you're playing some sort of one-arm-tied-behind-your-back-challenge. Zero is mindnumbingly uninteresting. It's got kind of good graphics and that's it. The real time calendar stuff is pointless since you'll finish the game in a week and never be at the right town at the right japanese-exclusive holliday. If you want cool japanese inspired JRPGs for the SNES there's the way better Mamotarou Densetsu and Oni series of games.
