i like midway games and what arcade and console games they offered, from mortal kombat, NFL blitz and gauntlet, im curious anyone else has any opinions on games wither developed or published by midway.

I feel like they had their best years during the golden age of arcade (pre-NES) and the N64.During 4th gen they published MK and NBA Jam and are based for that as well.I also keep forgetting Midway published Killer Instinct on Arcade

They are decent overall. I enjoyed many of their titles. Much better than the random quality but mostly shit Acclaim at the time.

>>12610820Midway was one of the few Western studios, alongside Rare and Rockstar, that weren’t struggling indie studios, lost animators, demoscene creators, or programmers. They were, mainly during the Boon/Tobias era, game designers. It’s hard to say that about most Western developers of retro games that aren’t RPGs, but they deserve that title. Whether you like MK or not, these games are genuinely fun.
Definitely a powerhouse in the arcade industry. As an arcade collector their name is unavoidable. I just wish they did less sports games. But as an American publisher, you can't get away with *not* making sports titles. Sports are too popular here.

Wrestlemania The Arcade Game is permanently a GOAT arcade title in my eyes. P.S. it was a gay magazine
