And JRPGs helped save it. This is my story...Playing shmups lets you focus on the same short content for dozens of hours. It lets you live a world of familiarity that's safe and secure. All that separates you from a clear is learning a finite amount of patterns and this is reassuring. But JRPGs push you out of your comfort zone and into the unknown. Every new town is a new world of exploration. JRPGs don't let you hide in the familiar but force you to constantly adapt to new environments. This is a profound impact on personal development. While being a shmup player, I was socially withdrawn because my brain craved reliable patterns only. But when I switched to playing JRPGS, it openned up a new tolerance for the unknown and I was able step confidently into almost any situation.Thank you JRPGs for making me normal again.

>>12610865ngl op but you're kinda sounding unironically true, my comfiest gaming last year was was rpgs and soaking in new worlds
It's wild how people like OP constructed their own little world where they are weaving a narrative, in a supposed war between shmup and jrpg fans.
>Hey man, you got your jrpg in my shmup
>>12610865Why is Mario RPG talked about more than Webkinz?
>>12610865I uh...you're not serious, right? JRPGs are by and large not challenging in any way. You don't have to adapt to shit as most combat can be passed by spamming basic attacks. And yeah, new towns are fun to explore, but it's largely just collecting some loot and sidequests. This is bait, right?
>>12611068>spamming basic attacksYou won't even make it past the first main boss doing this.
>>12610961>copeypasta kek
>>12611636Maybe not Mario RPG, but most JRPGs you can clear 95% of the game that way.
