You would have to know of the design flaw and preemptively lube the stickbox before using it
Apparently not with all the stick drifts in current consoles.

I can't play the Goemon game because of a slight analog stick drift. It is a minor problem in some platformers like running full speed forward in SM64 which feels like it isnt moving fast enough.
