>be me
>been playing duke nukem 3d on saturn for ever
>been hearing alot about how duke nukem 64 is the best console port
>went out today
>found a copy
>cool.png
>goes home happy
>starts to play
>no music
>stupid ass controls
>very ugly textures
>very boring atmosphere
>yeah but 3d explosions that slows the game down and extra empty levels

yeah sure, best console port my ass.
>>
and then everyone clapped
>>
>>12613143
Why doesn't this post start at
>No music?
The rest is irrelevant
>>
>>12613183
thx
>>
It's mainly the 'new' weapons and ammo system people like, but there's a Duke 64 PC port you can play instead
>>
>>12613198
Also the change to the stripper joints/censorship kind of changed the level design in interesting ways.
>>
>>12613202
Yeah these were lateral moves but I'd rather see a duke game with both. Inserting duke burger in level2 is neat but feels incomplete.

Co-op is a nice addition.
>>
>>12613202
i forgot to mention the censorship that ruins the game
>>
>>12613215
>Co-op is a nice addition.
saturn version also has co op
>>
>>12613249
I don't like the censorship, but it also forced them to add new chunks to levels and change things up and for a Duke fan like me, it is cool to see rather than rage inducing because I could just play it on PC right now.
>>
>>12613215
>>12613249
>>12613264
Also the "censorship" added one of the best features to the series: Saving babes. Before, it was a creepy Alien reference for some titillation, but then it became a feature I think should be part of the franchise. Duke IS saving the babes, right? So he should be able to save them during levels. Duke Nukem Zero Hour was the prime example of this feature not only being on brand but also good/adding to the level design.
>>
It is better than PS1 and Saturn versions and it is at least unique, but really play the PC versions.
>>
>>12613272
>he never played duke nukem 64
>>
>>12613270
idk sounds like excuses to me
>>
>>12613280
I have played all 3, The tilting camera ruins the Saturn version
>>
>>12613292
>tilting
what are you a pussy?
n64 literaly has no music and awkward controls.
and the saturn version looks 10x better.
thats just some next level coping i swear
>>
>>12613257
Does it? Is it only over network?
>>
>>12613143
If you had friends in the 90s, you would understand why Duke 64 is fucking amazing.
>>
>>12613339
What is there to cope? Only Sega fanboys gives 2 shits about the power slave engine. Both Ps1 and N64 have better fps games than this anyways.
>>
>>12613143
>N64 game thread number #3789499 that angered many a retarded fanboy
Being an N64 GOD has many advantages, and reading butthurt posts like OP's is one of the finest.

Tier List Duke Nukem 3D:

S.PC
A.Sega Saturn
B.Nintendo 64
C.Playstation 1
D.Mega Drive/Sega Genesis

Never every try the Sega Genesis Version :)
>>
You fags all have shallow views on this. Gameplay is the most important and in that regard Saturn loses because all gameplay behaviours are approximate recreations, with enemy behaviours and weapons worse than the original. Meanwhile both the PSX and N64 versions are litteraly the same code as the original since both use the Build Engine.

I love the Saturn and Slavedriver btw
>>
Also the PSX has terrible frame rate while N64 is really smooth due to them creating a 3D rendered like modern sourceports did
>>
>>12613339
It's not awkward, its natural
t. Turok expert.
>>
>>12613771
I liked it better on PS1 than Saturn or N64. It's definitely the weakest of the Slavedriver trilogy. Once you accept that it's now a slow-ass borderline survival horror game where you have to conserve ammo, Quake is probably the best of those games, it's the only one of the 3 that I rushed through trying to beat because it hooked me.

N64 Duke may be censored, but at least it's not the ugly blurry mess that Quake 1 and 2 are on N64. Using a port of GLQUAKE for both games was a choice.
>>
PS1 is the only true port. Yes it has bad framerate but it's not unplayable plus the new soundtrack is sick.
The rest are new engines and you can't even call it Duke 3D at that point.
>>
>>12613795
N64 is Build for all code except rendering. It's the same as using OpenGL renderes in source ports except the N64 version did it first. Zero Hour is identical, Build with a 3D rendered except nobody knew about it until the 2010s, not even Ken Silverman.

daily console nigger cope thrrerad
