This type of game threadIt's summer and I'm on a kick of that late 80's/90's beachy/oceanography kind of thing. Would love more games that have this specific kind of aesthetic, but anything goes really
>>12614820>anything goes reallyBy that I mean, stick to the beachy/oceanography type themeBut they don't all have to have a James Cameron submarine. Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine and Wave Race 64 are fine
>>12614820I love this shit but the framerate kills me. I usually ignore this kind of thing, but for some reason in Treasures of the Deep it drives me up a wall. Still love it, would love to play more like it.
>>12614828If you like RTS games, you might check out Submarine Titans. I feel like it has a similar realistic-ish submarine aestheticYou've also got stuff like Critical Depth on the PS1 which is a multiplayer oriented thing, kinda like Battle Tanxor stuff like Aquanox and Archimedean Dynasty
Sea World Adventure Parks Tycoon 1 and 2Decent fun theme park tycoon games, if you want an oceany vibe
This looks a lot like Sub Culture
>>12614963FUCKI was trying to remember the name of that gameNever played it but it looks pretty fun desu
Enemy Infestation is a PC game that occupies a crossroads between Xcom, Aliens™, and late 90s RTS games that takes place in research facility at the bottom of the ocean.
Dr. Riptide for DOS
Critical DepthTwisted Metal but with underwater subs.
The original Tropico had a tourism focused expansion pack, perfect for tropical summer vacation vibes.
Operation Neptune (DOS) was my jam in the early 90s.
>>12615048The endings in that game are insane even by the standards of singletrac. The soviet one in particular is....special.
Divers dreamBlue legend of waterFluid
>>12615242Come on, dude. We all know what games there are. Post some screenshots for the vibe, share some stories, explain why you like them. Don't just write a grocery list.
>>12615059>when you see the face
>>12615256He wanted more games and I provided some, my job is done adios faglord*exits thread*
>>12615161Agreed, though some of them are cool. Captain Cutlass' is my favorite.
>>12614820I’ve always been curious about the Aquanaut’s Holiday games and later on Everblue. Not retro, but I love the Wii Endless Ocean titles.
>>12614820Anything goes? In The Hunt is a great SHMUP I like Love the ocean warfare aesthetic, as I do with Dolphin Blue, and Aqua Kitty.
>>12617035Yus. Anything goes, as long as it's in the ballpark>Dolphin BlueAh that was a fun little Run n' Gun iirc?Had trouble with the emulator though. I might should go back to it
>>12617051Yeah, it is a fun "Metal Slug" style shooter, but the aesthetics are superb, great sprite art. Flycast emulates the Arcade version fine, you just need the Arcade bios in the same folder you place the DreamCast bios. Even my 2014 Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet can emulate it full 30fps
>>12614990Played the demo a lot as a kid. I remember you had to be creative when trying to kill the aliens, and different items could have random effects. Like trying to spray an alien with a fire extinguisher could heal it, etc
James Pond: Underwater agent. I played the second, Robocod, a lot on the amiga as a kid.
>>12617061Ah, thank you anon! I will have to look into that>gifMan, I visited an aquarium as a wee lad and there was a dolphin petting pool. It was very cool, and I've been having intense nostalgia for that kind of thing. This isn't really videogames, but I was looking up stuff on Archive.org and stumbled across this VHS tape about Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, and I've been cracking up over the "Magical Password"https://archive.org/details/atlantis-paradise-island-bahamas-a-sun-international-resort-and-casino-1994Your key to the secret ancient paradise of Atlantis is "Magical" and "Friendly" hahaha
