This is an odd request, but I've recently acquired some really shit android tablets(Q8 Pros, running a Allwinner A133) and I would like to put a bunch of retro and homebrew games on them, since they'll be used by my nieces for a long road trip. Mostly doing this because of a storage:gameplay ratio.I've got Lemurdroid already set up, and have determined that the best I can get is the Gameboy Advance. The N64 and Nintendo DS are too intensive and lag too much to actually be viable to play. They have an eclectic taste and probably will try out every game at least once, so a wide range of genres is appreciated.
Final Fantasy
Women like survival horror because they see it as an allegory for rape
>>12617186I do actually have that already downloaded. I'm worried about the first game, since the manuals are kind of required, but the second, third and Mystic should be fine, right?>>12617192Well... can you recommend some survival horror games for the GBA?
Hello Kitty for GBAShantaeKirbyPokemon Mystery DungeonHamtaroDr. MarioTetrisMario KartYoshiPokemon Pinball
>>12617205Huh, this reminds me, I should also throw in Super Mario Advance, shouldn't I? Thanks for the suggestions.
>>12617183Just get the full ROM set. It's only like 10 GB. It's even less if you only get the games from one region. Even the cheapest chink SD card can fit the entire set and have space for every other cartridge based platform's ROM set to spare.
>>12617183>used by my nieces for a long road tripthey wont
>>12617225>Just get the full ROM set. It's only like 10 GB.they will have absolutely no idea what game to pick, will randomly pick 2 games they dont like, and stop playing entirely.anon should just pick a few good games they might actually like instead.
>>12617183Kids don't want to play your le hidden gems. They like Nintendo. Give them Mario. Give them Pokemon. Give them Zelda. If we're being perfectly honest, you should probably scrap the emulator idea entirely and just give them Minecraft.
>>12617183You could add some puzzle games like:Dr. Mario & Puzzle LeagueTetris WorldsSuper Puzzle FighterKuru Kuru KururinChuChu RocketPuyo Pop FeverYou could also add GB and GBC games. You only need a program called Goomba Color to convert them into GBA ROMs.
>>12617183Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town, it's what Stardew Valley was inspired by and tried to build off of but it's the girl version with a girl MC. Should run fine on pretty much any old phone I'd assume since it's just gba. Also don't pigeonhole them into just girly games. My younger sister had a few disney princess games she played very rarely but she beat New Super Mario Bros on her ds like a hundred times. Try getting SMB, SMB3, and SMW. They'll love it, trust. Everyone likes Mario. Also most Kirby games. Very easy for children to pick up and its probably more aesthetically pleasing to the average girl than Mario.
>>12617236>MinecraftMy man, if it can't run an N64 emulator, why the fuck would Minecraft fare any better? Bedrock is NOT better programmed than Project64.>the othersI didn't ask for hidden gems, just games that girls were more into. I already planned to give them a pretty normal mix of my own ROMs, which already included those things.>>12617241It has Gameboy and Color support, I'm just pointing out the upper limits are the SNES and GBA.>>12617229>they won'tThey don't exactly have anything else. I'd be impressed if they find a sufficient way to stave off boredom from a 5-day road trip down to Texas and then survive the rest of the 40 or so days without electronics.>>12617225>entire romsetChoice paralysis is a concern. If it wasn't, I'd have done that already.>>12617243I dunno if they like Stardew Valley since they don't even own a PC, but they may like Harvest Moon.
>>12617248I just brought up the Stardew Valley thing because it's probably on top for most popular game amongst women alongside Animal Crossing. Bitches love farming/life sims.
>>12617183just put 10 games on it. mainstream stuff like mario and pokemon
>>12617248I remember playing Minecraft on a cheap android phone like 13 years ago. Does it really not run? You have to remember emulating games is much more intense than running them natively.
>>12617183The missus mainly plays Story of Seasons, Disney Dreamlight Valley, or some kind of retail management game. Hope that helps.
>>12617260I mean, I'm pretty sure. The CPU itself uses 4 ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs, which are CPUs from 2014. I know that the machine technically fulfills the "minimum requirements" of Minecraft, but so did my Acer netbook from 2007, and that didn't make running 1.7.10 enjoyable.I'll see if I can run a test.
>>12617183i wanna fuck that 'boy
>>12617281Okay so after a test... this is absolutely fucking ass, but it works better than the N64 emulator did, so color me pleasantly surprised. It's on the list I guess.>>12617261Huh, okay. Thanks!
>>12617248You can always have 1 folder that's a curated list and another that's every ROM. There's not really any reason not to have more ROMs, especially if you're going to be out for 40 days.
>>12617319>folders to separate romsLemurdroid doesn't really allow that, unfortunately. It allows separation by system, but it won't keep the folder structure intact.
>>12617183
>>12617205>Shantaecoomer slop for degenerate losers
>>12617183Ham-Ham's Unite! for the GBC
>>12617183 (OP)These are the games I would put on there for my nieces:Kuru Kuru Kururin (Awesome!)"Pokemon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire"also Pokemon Emerald + Fire RedWariowareDrill DozerHamtaro: Ham-Ham HeartbreakHamtaro: Rainbow RescueKlonoa: Empire of DreamsThe Urbz: Sims in the CityThe Sims Bustin OutKirby: Nightmare in Dream LandMario vs. Donkey Kong
>>12617439do kids these days even know what Hamtaro is
>>12617439>all the Hamtaro hamsters have passed awayBros ...
>>12617183the Dog sim.and all the graphic adventure games/ VNs.
>>12617194Nah, the first 3 FFs are hot garbage anti-zoomer. Give them 6 and they will play that the entire ride and back.
>>12618471>give them 6Uhm... I'm going by US versions. So I would've given them FF1, FF4, and FF6.>>12617775No but my nieces don't even know what a Gameboy is beyond "hehe Pokemon Fire Red."
>>12617183If you gave me real-time games to play on a tablet with only virtual buttons, I would punch you randomly the entire road trip. So um, I don't recommend those.
>>12617183Hamtaro Ham Hams Unite on GBC and Ham Ham Heartbreak on GBA. I've only played the GBC one so far but it's a fun point-n-click-ish game where you just walk around and learn hamster slang and use it to communicate with other hamsters and solve their problems, with the main goal being to get all your friends back to your clubhouse for a secret surprise. I hear the GBA one is similar, with a love theme. Also I've never seen the anime and I didn't feel like I was missing any vital info to play the game.>>12617205>>12617439>>12617519bestest and hammo-pilled
The Little Mermaid NESAny if the Capcom or Sega of Japan developed disney games really (just NOT Fantasia, that was Sega of Australia)
>>12617183>it rubs the lotion on the skin
Obviously this situation calls for NetHack
Pajama Sam, Lego Island, and any of the Dogz and Catz games on 95/98 were all games my sister loved and still enjoys to this day. The Nancy Drew point and click games were also really good
>>12617183puzzle games, farming games and sometimes racing games tends to go well with girls. Platforms of the cuter styles.
>>12617183Puyo Puyo, fun puzzle games with a charming cute aesthetic
Puyo Puyo has easily the highest learning curve of any game in its genre. It's very frustrating when you're just starting out. Any new player is just going to get repeatedly stomped by low level AI over and over again without making any headway in learning the game properly. I don't know why people think it's a good kids game. If I had it as a kid (not that it was available to me; I'm not Japanese) I would have hated it and dropped it very quickly. I liked Tetris though. Tetris is a lot more casual friendly.
>>12622747Thoughts on Baku Baku?I think it's even harder to master than Puyo Puyo
>>12622747>not that it was available to me; I'm not JapaneseSo you never had Mean Bean Machine or Kirby's Avalanche?
>>12622927I did not have every console as a kid. I had an NES and a PlayStation. Puyo Puyo was not available to me. If I was Japanese, it would have been.
>>12617183Swordcraft Story
>>12622959I mean, fair enough I suppose. ZSNES existed but the emulation scene wouldn't be well known until later anyways.
>>12617183Drastic should run well on those tablets. It was pulled from the Play Store so you'll have to procure the APK elsewhere. I've seen it on archive but haven't tested that particular one, so proceed with caution. If you get it up and running Nintendogs and Zookeeper should be winners.Other than that, my nieces like SMB3 & SMW, Sonic 2, and Super/Mighty Pang.
>>12617183Castlevania 3
