>Organized Co-ordinated Gay Op to fuck prices even more

Remember when that literal homosexual claimed that his games were SUPER RARE because of the WETA grades that literally turned out to be a scam!?
>>
>>12617208
Totally not a scam

>>

$600k is not nothing...

but that is not rich money, and this is the highest priced example.

Classic shit isn't making any fucks rich.

Your games will be auctuoned off when you die
>>
>>12617259
The grading thing is a fucking joke. The people behind it will slab anything, and the only people who value it are clueless fucks who did not give two shits about videogame collecting until they saw an opportunity to turn games into currency tokens for their investment schemes. Id you ever see where the people who are all tied up in this shit, it becomes pretty apparent that many of them are dumb as a sack of shit and have basically no knowledge of game collecting beyond what is drip fed to them by grading company and auction house reps.

man these twitter losers are so starved for any interaction. why is illegal to kill them? It should be completely legal

>>12617310
>The grading thing is a fucking joke.
the entire grading system was exposed as an enormous scam that benefits auction houses that take a percentage of the final sale.

It's one of the test market copies, it sells for a lot because it's legitimately rare. That said, lol at paying that much for SMB1

>original shrink wrap
NES games were not shrink wrapped though, the boxes were sealed shut with a sticker over the flap. Someone just paid over half a million dollars for a fake.

The most common scenario for unopened toys is they were bought for a child who died before it could be opened. Then the grieving parent can't bring themselves to do anything with it so they just put it in storage.
>>
>>12617208
No, exploiting man children with money is making people rich. It's a very lucrative business.
>>
>>12617676
Different regions and different print periods had different seals for NES.

imagine how frustrating it is for them when a new console comes out. Here you have all this decor and shelf arrangement perfectly designed to incorporate all the consoles/games and now you have to redesign it all to incorporate the new one
>>
>>12619470
no, having to live in a garish nightmare of endless distracting shit shoved in your face
>>
>>12617305
Yeah, probably not. A lot of the collectables end up in a yard sale, and get sold at bottom dollar.

I go to yard sales all summer. I saw some neat Indian, feather not dot, items. I asked about them and the person began beaming about how they were antiques and started naming off famous Indians, etc and provided letters of recognition from people who assess this stuff. I just smiled "I just thought it was neat looking I really know nothing about it, thanks." The guy tried to sell me ceremonial clothes that some famous guy wore during some transformative event in history. I said "You should keep this if it is important to your family." The guy said "My father collected cowboy and Indian artifacts, it is not my history." I said "then you should give it to a museum." He said he tried but they wouldn't give him a realistic price for it...

That is collectors in a nutshell. They don't know what this shit is worth. They certainly don't know what it will be worth in 20 years.
>>
>>12617305
I hope it will get sold
don't care for what money

I just hate the idea that my old beloved Amigas will just land in the trash

This, 25 years ago I couldn't find any takers for my c64s. I just wanted people to pay shipping. I had a 5 of them, accessories and a c128. I fished them out of yard sales and thrift stores and repaired 2 of them and everything was in working condition. But I only got 1 buyer for the c64 and one for the c128 no one bought the accessories or the other c64s. Literally "Buy It Now" $5 + shipping costs, and shipping was the straight cost to ship nothing else.

It reminds of the old Bill Gates advert where he picks up an old curbed Mac drives around with it and ends up curbing it again.

$660,000 is the price of home ownership for in a middle to low-income neighborhood. I wouldn't call that rich. The fact that poor people have such a small grasp as to the value of currency and who carries the abundance of global currency really helps us understand this post.

Reeks to AI success story of something starting sad then making the guy rich from one day to other.
Wrapping is a shit made post 2000s or maybe even later, worked at a store that sold videogames and we did that when games came.
>remove the wrapping.
>open box.
>remove cartridge and leave it on a huge box.
>leave empty box on shelves (anti theft measure).
>customer picked box of game and we put the game back on box.
>ask if the customer want the game sealed for present just in case sealing machine was working.

you think that's gonna make you happy?
>>
>>12617208
Yeah if you have the most iconic videogame shrink-wrapped brand new or some other ridiculously stupid collectors item the market isn't rigged. Otherwise who the fuck thinks shovelware I'm trying to buy for nostalgia is worth 70 dollars because they have the box which is half torn and the guide with food stains on it. The game in question was bugs bunny rabbit rampage for SNES. Boomers and investor bros have ruined the hobby and I'll continue to emulate
>>
>>12621268
If the only reason you have these games is to play them then yeah you might as well just emulate.

Maybe not happy, but not having to worry about the mortgage, or hating my slave labor job, or if I'll have to buy cheap noodles all week again, or if I'll have to choose between gas and going to the doctor could be helpful
