Games that activate your almonds.Talk about them. Can be puzzle, strategy, simulation, etc ...Chris Sawyer's Locomotion was complex for me when I was 9 but I managed to finish it. Now it's trivial but just recently discovered there's a large mod community.
Sim City 4. IIRC it was even used in some college-level urban planning classes as a novel way to teach core concepts to new students.

No game requires an above average intelligence, they are toys made to sell for as many people as possible, they won't target 130 IQ people

I always had an idea to have a video game where you have to learn a language to complete the game. As you go on, you know more and more so you can advance. Like Italian for example. The gameplay would be some kind of adventure game, where you have to solve a mystery in a small rural town. The town would be filled with many different characters who are speaking the target language and don't know english much if at all. If you are fluent already you can, skip a lot of the game and get to the end faster. The plot might be solving a murder or hidden crime, or finding some kind of treasure. Now, I'm not sure it would be fun at all but it would definitely require higher IQ to appreciate.

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri gets the noggin' joggin', but mainly because of the sci-fi and philosophical bits that are thrown at you, not so much the gameplay.I've been curious to try the Commandos series, is it a good puzzle game? The little bit I watched made it seem like there's a lot of downtime potentially. As in, "oops, I missed my window to crawl past that guard on his patrol, now I have to wait two minutes for him to reach that point of the loop again".
Unless you have an IQ of a mechanical enginner you won't master this game unless you spend decades practicing.
